Note that this review was written when directfoto.co.uk was a photo printing company. It's now simply a camera/media supplies company, and I haven't used it. However I still recommend online printing - most of what I have written below would also apply to Kodak Gallery UK which I now use regularly When we first bought a digital camera, we assumed that we would make our own prints from those we wanted to put in albums or on walls. I ordered 5 sets of inkrite ink tanks on this company's website on about the 4th February 2010 and received a confirmation order e-mail. They claim on their website that orders are dispatched the same day, but it doesn't actually say whether the item is in stock, just 'buy now' or 'order now'. They took the money immediately, which was almost £45, but have so far sent me nothing. I have e-mailed them several times, and there was never any response, and the most recent e-mails have been to tell them I want to cancel the order and want my money back and that I will take them to small claims ... more

For a number of years I have used this company for processing my films and everything has been ok. So as I now have a digital camera I ordered some prints on line. I received an e-mail from world pay to say the payment had been made - then I received an e-mail from directphoto thanking me for my order and I should receive it within 3-5 days. My money was taken on the 16th April. I tried to ring them yesterday but you just get a message saying 'sorry we can't take your call and you can't leave a message'. Chose to try directfoto after seeing the rating given by previous reviewer. When I placed my order (112 prints) on the 31st July the 15FREE code was not accepted in the promotions code box and FREE postage was not available as a choice (postage cost £1.35). A caption kept appearing to say offers had ended 30th July. The Web site did not make it clear that it was a limited offer. After spending 90 minutes opening a new account and uploading digital photos that I wanted printed I was redirected to a payment website. That went through OK (of course!) but when I tried to return to Directfoto to finalise the order I couldn't get back in. When I tried to access my account to see what had happened I was told the account didn't exist. I emailed customer service and the only response I got was to copy the photos to CD and mail it to them for processing.
