Normally we walk over the Hill to B&Q, which is fine if you want something small, but not suitable for big purchases. It is an even less helpful solution if they don't happen to have the one thing you really need. It was therefore out of necessity rather than enthusiasm that I hoped online to investigate the B&Q website. I would imagine that if you are wise in the ways of DIY the site will make a lot of sense - with products arrayed under their general ... ...who spends a long time wandering hopelessly from aisle to aisle, you may find the online expereince is comparable. The search facilities are good, but the more you know about what you want to buy, the better chance you have of finding it. EG- we want to buy a waterproof paint. We search through paint, through masonry stuff, we eventually end up with a bituminous paint sold as 'for roofing' it takes a while. We want loft insulation. We search for ...

Advantages: lots of products to choose from, good value for money, saves searching round aisles of cement! Disadvantages: certain items are really hard to find, expensive delivery charge
My mission started after sorting though boxes of books and deciding that I really could do with a book shelf, I also needed a hose for washing the back yard out and the only place where I figured I could buy both items was B&Q. Now I could have taken a 15 minute trip down the road to my local store but I'm pregnant and the thought of traipsing round aisle after aisle of DIY tools, paints and door knobs didn’t really appeal to me so I decided ... ...through my whole experience starting with
HOMEPAGE:
I was impressed with the homepage, special offers were prominent, the site loaded quickly, the help section was clearly defined and there is an excellent long list of department, a really helpful part was the section called 'customer favourites', underneath is a list of 18 main departments.
You are not overloaded with too much information or products which encouraged me to explore further!

Advantages: Masses of products, great prices, useful other sections Disadvantages: None found so far
...That’s how I discovered diy.co.uk (I suppose people would get confused if they used their real name – do you type b and q or b & q?).
Anyway, the site looks good. It’s in nice sort of orangey-browny shades and everything is clear and uncluttered – very unusual for a site selling a big range.
And this site sells a MASSIVE range of goods. There is more on the B&Q web site than there is in the average large store, covering ... ...site is easy, or you can use the navigational bars to take you to predefined categories such as ‘Bathrooms’, ‘Kitchens’, ‘Lighting’ and ‘Flooring’ to name but a few.
Once at a category page you are then offered plenty of sub-categories to choose from. There wasn’t one thing I was looking for that I didn’t find quickly and easily here.
Items are displayed with small pictures which you click ...

Ok ..I don’t want to hear a told you so …As some of you know I recently experienced difficulties getting a new bath, some of you had left comments suggesting B&Q .I thought that I would put this advise to the test with some strange results.
I don’t live very near a B&Q Warehouse store, we have the smaller more limited stores, they only offer a selection of DIY essentials, and because these stores are smaller it does make walking ... ...you are looking for but you don’t have the choice in makes or designs, which is partly my excuse for not visiting them for the suite (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
I contacted my local store who advised that all baths from their booklets can be purchased and delivered within 3 weeks, they suggested that I try the Warehouse 30 miles away ..which I did ..They only stock one design (not the one that I wanted), I then had ...
