Dooyoo is a website that provides consumer reviews to both its members and the general public to aid them in making purchasing decisions. They also provide rudimentary price comparisons and links to their associates in order to make these purchases. Dooyoo's primary revenue is through advertising via banners and pop-ups on site and click throughs. Consumer reviews are provided by its members.
How dooyoo register? *************************
Registering to become a member is a simple process. Pick a username (something original as you would be amazed by the fact Dave is already taken), a password and validate your account with a valid email address and away you go.
Why dooyoo want to? ************************* Loads of reasons. To share your opinion on anything from your favourite book to a hellish holiday, to debate the price of petrol, to earn some money, to improve your writing be it consumer or creative or perhaps all of the above.
How dooyoo earn a fortune? *********************************
Well you will not. As with all consumer websites there is no "get rich quick" scheme. You can however earn cash or Amazon UK vouchers at a rate of approximately £10 every few months depending on your activity. Payment is judged by the amount of "dooyoo miles" you earn via other members reading and rating your reviews (at a rate of 3p per read). If you are in it purely for the fun why not donate your earnings to charity?

Not at all, a basic standard of English and a run through a spell checker should be more than adequate. Remembering dooyoo is about sharing your opinion not constructing a literary masterpiece.
What else dooyoo do? **************************
Reading, rating and commenting on reviews is the most important part of the site. Your ratings and comments help decide how useful a review is deemed for the consumer. If you find a review you think helps you decide on a product you can click on U (useful) or VU (very useful). If you dislike it or think it is missing something likewise you can rate SU (somewhat useful) or even NU (not useful). On the other hand if you read a review you think provides you with all you need why not nominate it for a crown?

No, not a whojit a crown. If you nominate a review for a crown the powers that be may award it one (denoted by a little piccy of a crown you will be surprised to hear). This gives the writer an instant reward of 1500 miles.
So, dooyoo get what you give? ***********************************
Yep indeedy dooyoo. The more you read, rate and comment the more you will be read in return. As with anything the more you give the more you get. Do make sure you are reading reviews though. Long-term members can tell if you simply go through the list and rate without reading. Most often via inappropriate comments!
What does dooyoo do well? ********************************
The monetary rewards are higher than that of any other consumer review site. The site itself navigates quickly and has a professional look. Categories such as Speakers Corner provide a good break from the consumer categories without venturing into a jackanory, poetry corner territory by providing an area for discussion and debate be it serious or frivolous. Dooyoo has a superb support system in the form of category guides whom make themselves available to all queries from members and being members themselves provide a human facet to the website. Currently the dooyooteam itself are responsive to queries and forward thinking. In short the future is bright.
What does dooyoo do badly? **********************************
Dooyoo suffers from years of neglect. It is only in the last six months that changes are afoot. As such products to write about in the database are woefully limited. Its main rival has in comparison a massive database. A product suggestion tool that currently does not work does not help this. Also many members are unaware the archive section does not appear on the new reviews list and as such members who post there get few if any reads. The search engine for products can also be a bit hit and miss with many members preferring to use google.
Dooyoo versus Ciao ************************
It would be amiss of me not to compare dooyoo to its closest rival ciao although at present I think they offer different things. As a consumer site dooyoo is more professional, consumer focused and at present responsive to its members. Ciao on the other hand has the "community edge" in that it actively "making friends" and using guestbooks and the more creative centred "Ciao Café" for this. As such there are more reviews and more members although I think the standard is not quite as high. Dooyoo does have an unofficial off-site guestbook but many members are either unaware of or do not use it. In my opinion people who are interested in sharing opinions and making pocket money spend most time on dooyoo whereas those who are interested in friendships and being creative "hang" on ciao. The monetary rewards are on the whole higher on dooyoo although ciao has a survey option these are often incompletable or incompatible.
Of course you do not have to be exclusive to either site and it is not uncommon for members to cross post reviews from dooyoo to ciao and vice versa. However, I would say as a matter of respect do not "post and run" on either site.
Dooyoo have a preference then? **************************************
All in all I think of the two dooyoo is a vastly improved and dynamic site that offers a perfect place for those wanting to express opinion. There is still room for debate but I would say those wishing to be purely creative should perhaps look elsewhere. My current leaning is towards dooyoo as my review site of choice and I say if you want to share your views come and join me there. You will be made most welcome.
