I agree with the previous reviewers who have stated that Dress Circle has a rare stock of hard-to-find items having to do with theatre and commercial theatre history, including musicals on CD. However, it is one of the only such shops in London, and as such, there's not much incentive to provide customer service. In the store, staff on many occasions have been less than helpful, dealing with me with a shrug or a sigh despite the fact I have been ... ...items. Furthermore, its Web site, through which it accepts many of its national and international orders, is not updated. Dress Circle's Web site lists many items as available when, in fact, they are not in stock or even necessarily available anymore (since the musical theatre CD industry rarely repressses titles). So if you use its Web site, resist the temptation to add a few extra items to your order to spread the shipping charges out, because ...

Advantages: Range of Stock Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...Selling Musical and Cabaret ephemera, DressCircle.co.uk has everything that you could possibly desire from current, and often past, West End shows. But this site is so much more than a mere shop; it is a treasure trove of communication and information.
Upon first entering the site you are met by a purple-ish/blue background with a top banner containing the Orange online logo. There is a large central panel of white with a few of their pages highlighted ... ...and efficient.
Dresscircle.co.uk is a well-designed, easy to use, efficent site that caters to possibly every taste in non-chart music as well as theatrical memorabilia. With a speed of service that is staggering; an impressive stock; great community feeling and up-to-date information to me this is one of the best shoppping sites on the web, and even though it is a teensy bit specialised it is well worth a peek. Oh and if you're ever in the West ...

Advantages: Great service in terms of speed and simplicity. Disadvantages: Colour scheme!
Dress Circle's online store (like their shop in London) is the most comprehensive place that I've found for items relating to musical film and theatre. Their major line is CDs, but they also stock videos, magazines, sheet music, books, merchandise and so on. The site is very easy to browse or search, particularly since they upgraded the search facility in recent months. The search can be narrowed down to specific product categories (i.e. sheet music, ... ...take pot luck and find everything that mentions Grease or South Pacific. The library aspect of my character is kept happy by the fact that boolean terms work well with the search facility - not infallibly, but then they don't work infallibly on the catalogue at 'my' library either!
Prices and p+p are reasonable, about what you'd pay in a high-street store, though considerably less if the item happens to a be an import, for which any chain will tend ...
