Although this doesn't sound like much, you can expand your amount by inviting friends and filling out consumer surveys. By this method, I have stretched my account size to a more-than-enough 82Mb.
The web interface is very neat and tidy and also relies less on JAVA applets than certain other online storage sites. This means that editing, moving and deleting files is far quicker.

you can also store additional information on the files you have stored, and if it's a picture, even view it online.
It is also possible to share your folders with friends, family and co-workers, again eliminating the need for storage media. They will receive an email confirming that you are sharing a folder with them, and a link to where they can view it. Of course, for security, they can only wiew the folders (and subfolders) you have allowed them to see. If they have a Driveway account too, they can copy the files to their own.
The possibilities for use are endless, whether you just want to backup important files or have your own online photo album to show your family, Driveway is the easy and fast way to do it.

~ ~ The one thing I could really do with at present is a new desk- top computer.
We first got a computer about six years ago, an old IBM 486 that somebody or other was putting out in the rubbish, and it is the same system that we have today. (with a few changes, mind you!)
We now have now added an AMD 350Mhz chip, and a new motherboard, Cd Rom, and modem, plus 128mb of Ram and a 4Gb hard drive, so while it’s hardly “state of the art” ... ...time, and is good enough for our needs.
~ ~ We fitted the new hard drive just over two years ago, and at the time it was considered fairly large, whereas now it pales in comparison to the 30Gb drives (plus) which are becoming the norm. ~ ~ More than anything else, it is the small capacity of the hard drive which we find the biggest inconvenience, as it is amazing all the different uses you find for your computer once you have it around the house ...

Advantages: None! Disadvantages: read this horror story!
So, we are all told "back up safely, using an internet based drive back up system. In theory it sounds fine - but HEY, there are REAL risks - as some users of Driveway may only find out when it is too late!
Driveway was one of the first internet based file backup providers - I used them as they were endorsed by McAfee (the leading virus protection company).
First, the good news - driveway did, in those early days, give me "peace of mind" - even ... ...a fire at my home, I could rest easy knowing that driveway held a copy of my data in their massive file storage network, which was fire proof and hopefully bomb proof too!
I thought I was covered!
But then, just a couple of weeks or so ago, an email arrived out of the blue;
Driveway was shutting down its backup operation, and users had just a few days to copy their files from driveway and find another backup provider. After the 2 week notice period, ...

Backing up is always a good idea, however when you decide to backup online the problems are many and the grey hairs start to appear. This is my first bad review since joining Ciao, and I hate to speak the truth but it has to be done, for the sake of lost files everywhere!
I joined Driveway when the space limit sat at a comfy 50 megabytes. Great, I thought, that was just enough to store my valuable website files at the time. Not so great was when, ... ...the ominous e-mail came saying that space had been limited to 20 mb unless you were prepared to pay for the extra. That sucked to put it plainly, but I was hardly shocked as most place eventually turn that road.
So I split the storage between Driveway and Freedrive. The upload performance on both was poor to say the least. Slow and with a tendancy cease halfway through!
Finally it was the second e-mail that scared me and turned me into a hater ...

Advantages: good free storage site Disadvantages: have they back ups for ur backups?
If you have to many files on your hard drive and your computer is slowing down as a result then I would really recommend you driveway.com. This is a very good online storage site which allows you online access to you work when you want it. I used this when I was doing a project with four people, we put the work on this site and we could all have access to it. Otherwise, our computers would have had no space and it would have been a pain if we wanted ... ...fast and it’s really easy to put your files online, you need to register and of course you are given a password. The only problem is that if the site crashed you could lose your work, although it hasn’t happened so far it could……so be careful.
But, if you want to back-up your files then this is a great site and there is no limits to how much work you put on here. A very good site which could free up your computer. ...

Although, I have winzip and I very happy with it I still like to try weird and wonderful things. So, when I hard about online storage I had to check it out. A rather funny picture came to my head, with all the files floating in space (don’t know why!). But, it was nothing like that and it looked like a rather impressive web site. Although, I do have reservation about online storage I decided to explore further. Th site looked very good and ... ...referring friends and answering customer surveys you then can expand. Sounds good!.
