Firstly, anyone who is serious about DVDs has a multi-region player and is buying Region 1 discs - anyone who isn't needs to wake up. Assuming it's Region 1 you are after, DVD Box Office is simply the best place to buy discs. This Canadian upstart has been around a while now, and has a great reputation. Most notably, they offer FREE SHIPPING internationally. This makes a huge difference in the price for those used to paying shipping from DVD Express or Empire in the States. The selection is great (although slightly smaller than the big boys) and the prices are in line with any other North American outfit, with discs ranging from $20-$30 US (£14-20), and considering it includes all shipping and extras, it is a great deal. Titles are available months before the UK, and shipping is quick, usually taking a week or so. The discs come packed in padded mailers, arriving in perfect condition but avoiding any duties or taxes at the border (since they are unmarked). Browsing the site can be a bit tricky, as the design is on the weak side, but ordering is secure and easy, and repeat purchases are simple. Bottom line: DVD Box Office is the best place to buy your Region 1 discs.
