I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you’re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it’s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don’t pay for each film you chose – rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends). You create a list of at least ten (though many more is advisable) of the films you want to watch. The company then sends you the top films on your list as they become available. For example your list contains
1. Film ALet’s assume that film B is already out; this means you would get film A and C…
There are different packages available including the option to pay yearly:1. 1 star means 1 DVD at a time and costs £9.99 monthly or £110 yearly
2. 2 star means 2 DVDs at a time and costs £12.99 monthly or £143 yearly
3. 3 star means 3 DVDs at a time and costs £14.99 monthly or £165 yearly
4. 4 star means 4 DVDs at a time and costs £21.99 monthly or £242 yearly
5. 5 star means 5 DVDs at a time and costs £26.99 monthly or £297 yearly
∆◊◊ THE FILMS AVAILABLE ∆◊◊
The company claim to have 20,000 titles in stock – which you must admit is some amount. These include new releases such as Thunderbirds, around the world in 80 days, and Skrek 2. They also have a wide range of all genres, from Horror, to thriller, to animation, adult, romance, music, and sc-fi. There are many other genres also…..There is a selection of TV, documentary and forgein films also.∆◊◊ WHAT ABOUT POSTAGE COSTS ∆◊◊
All postage costs are included in the price of your monthly package, and all are by first class post. You simply tear the envelope open (carefully) when you get it, and use the same envelope to return your film when you have watched it, using the self seal strip to seal it.∆◊◊ MY THOUGHTS ∆◊◊
I have used many services online (to try their free service) and have enjoyed most, and most offer a reasonable service for your monthly fee. I personally like these service this type of service offer because there are no fines, no late returns (you return only when you have watched them), and above all convenience. No more do I have to traipse down the town centre to return one film I hired the night before, instead I simply post it and wait for my next view. Some people argue they are expensive, but personally I think they represent good value. If you rent a DVD from your local shop it costs about £2-3 I guess (its an age since I have hire from a shop), I have around 8 films a month which equate to at least £16 (at £2 each).
