I came across an offer from the Independent Newspaper for a free video from a company called (DVD) Streets Online. I was a little skeptical as I was requested to put in my credit card details, even though the video was free….so I thought that I would check out their selection of DVDs while I was there, and justifying the reason to pass my credit card details over (it made sense at the time).
The sight is easy to navigate. I found the selection ... ...an old favourite Braveheart. This came as a special edition a twin disc, I did a price comparison and found the disc to be £1.00 more than Play247 but since I was receiving the free video (Pokemon tv series) I wasn’t too bothered. I wasn’t even to be charged for postage. They highlight that they will try and dispatch all orders within 24 hours. They have a very comprehensive tracking system. Your order is taken step by step waiting for ...

Advantages: Well layed-out, DVD reveiws, EZY-buy Disadvantages: More expensive than the competition
DVDstreet part of Streets-online has been around for a while now. But the question is: is it any good?
Well the simple answer is: Yes and No...
I began using DVD-street, late 1999 early 2000, and have used it on and off ever since. However just because I have used it ever since, doesn't mean I use it all the time, and it doesn't mean its my prefered place too but DVD's.
If like me, you rarely buy a DVD in the shop and you prefer too buy online ... ...than the majority of high-street shops.. However this really isn't good enough, we have come too expect cheapness from the internet, and having prices which are £1 cheaper, most of the time, isn't worth the hassle.
However, DVD-street does have some nice features... It has a facility called EZY-buy which stores a cookie on your computer, and everytime you log back onto the site from your computer DVD-street will remember your name and account details ...

Advantages: 1st class service Disadvantages: prices are just too high
i used to think that Dvdstreet was one of the best online company's out there, and was one of my favourites for almost a year. They had very respectable prices when i first found them and they slowly got worse and worse as time went by. They used to run a happy hour where it would be an extra 15 or 17.5% of there normal prices which made them very cheap, especially the gamestreet where i could pick up a dreamcast new release for about £20, which ... ...they are in the middle of an 15% off happy hour promotion, which still makes them a lot more expensive than play or amazon. As of late they have been getting worse and worse in terms of price, where it would almost be the same as purchasing it in the shops in your local highstreet. This is mainly due to the fact that they have been taken over by the rather sting Kingfisher group. I have stopped using them altogether now as their prices are just too ...

Advantages: Very secure, fast, personal, clear and consise. Disadvantages: I can't think of any- honestly.
When I got my DVD player last Summer, I thought I would try and find cheaper ones on the internet, as high street stores were charging £20 a time. So I typed in DVD Shop and the first on the list was DVD Street. I went there, opened my first on-line account and started shopping! Three hours later I had seen everything they had to offer and was amazed at the prices! New releases are about £15.99 and the postage and packaging is totally free!
The ... ...and never have I had any problems! The site has many unique features, such as their "Randomiser" which has a page on display with some DVDs, Books and Cds, then the prices start dropping and you have to click them quickly to get that price!
With the option of pre-ordering the new releases, often months in advance, the site also gives you the opportunity to order somthing then look forward to it even more, since the disc always arrives on the doormat ...

Advantages: Fast service, good product display Disadvantages: Difficult to see a complete list
While getting a WAP phone last year I came across a nice little offer that allowed me to get a free CD when I signed up for Streetsonline. There was a lot to choose from and I was particularly pleased that they had a DVD section too. DVDstreet, as it's known, has a fantastic amount of DVDs at it's disposal and some nice catogorising so that you can find exactly what you are looking for quickly and easily. Just in case you can't find something, a ... ...and games to find what you need in the store. The points scheme is great. Ordering items gets you points, as does writing reviews of products and inviting friends. Getting 25 points means that you can have £5 off of anything on Streetsonline and you can even wait until this figure reaches £100! Postage is free and the delivery times are pretty fast considering this. I've had parcels arrive on my door 2 days after ordering! The one critism I have ...
