Advantages: cheap, convenient , comprehensive services Disadvantages: sim card took a few days to be delivered
I have a lot of time for Stelios and the Easy Group. He is on a bit of a crusade to supply quality services at reasonable prices and this has been extended to 'no frills airtime'. I was quite happy with my existing provider but when I happened upon the easymobile website I thought I would take a closer look.
The website is impressive and simple to navigate and the stuff they were offering seemed to me to be too good to miss. So I joined ... ...so we all phone and text each other rather than using the landline to phone home and we are collectively saving a fortune.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
This depends on when you sign up. When I signed up I paid £1 for a sim card and received £11 of airtime. A week or so later, easy were offering £25 of airtime for only £5. I wish I'd waited. I also got £5 bonus airtime for each family member I signed up!

The website is impressive and simple to navigate and the stuff they were offering seemed to me to be too good to miss. So I joined up immediately and so did the rest of my family so we all phone and text each other rather than using the landline to phone home and we are collectively saving a fortune.

I also got £5 bonus airtime for each family member I signed up! You also have some input into your mobile number. You can either take your old number with you or you can take the number you are given or you can choose a number. Bearing in mind that the first 6 digits of easy numbers are all 079624 you then choose the last 5 digits to suit yourself (depending on availability). When you receive the sim card you also get some snazzy personalised business cards to give to your mates.
If you want a new phone there is also a small online shop with where you can get from a free Nokia 1101 up to a Motorola V3 Blue for £79.99.
If after you have signed up you recommend a friend, you will each receive £5 airtime free as a bonus as soon as your friend activates their account.
The STANDARD SERVICES offered by Easymobile are many and include: Call Waiting andCall Hold Call divert Group Call Group Text Mobile Internet 3G……. and many more.
Check out the website for all of these. To me they all seem quite reasonable but I will probably never use most of them. I'm a technophobe. The website lists all the services available and gives an easy to understand explanation of each with the relevant charge, if any.
THE NETWORK uses the T-Mobile network which is what I used to be on so no probs there as it is pretty good where I live. Again you can check on the website to establish what the best areas for the network are.
TOPPING UP: this is easy and can be done in a number of ways. E-vouchers are available at branches of The Link or Curry's or PC World, or you can pay where you see the PayPoint logo. If you prefer, you can use a credit/debit card and pay over the phone or online.
If you want to check your BALANCE this can be done either online via your personal account or using the new service it is now possible to check your balance on the move by texting the word 'balance' to a given number.
WHAT DO YOU PAY?
The current tariff is: Text to other easymobile numbers 1p per text Text to other networks and BT line 5p per text Calls to other easymobile numbers 3p per call Calls to other networks and landlines in UK 15p per call Picture messaging 20p per message (offer price)
Easymobile are so confident that these prices are better than any other network they have included a facility on the website where you can make a comparison to see how much you can save. There is even a price comparison chart listing the tariffs of 15 other operators.
The website also features a News page and a Help and Support section.
It has been said that the Voicemail facility with easymobile is expensive but I can't see the point of a voicemail with a mobile phone. Aren't you supposed to answer it? Anyway, here's a dodge. All you have to do is dial ##002# and you turn it off.
In CONCLUSION:
Easymobile is too cheap to miss. The network is good The available services are good Help and support is there if you need it Customer service is good Special offers are good - currently 90 free minutes after every England World Cup game (come on England!)
The only fault I found was that the sim card took a few days to be delivered, but it was Easter weekend and it was Royal Mail.
Advantages: Ridicously cheap, good network reception, easy to set up Disadvantages: Can't check balance from phone, voicemail not free, negative credit
I have been with easyMobile.com for about 3 months now. My main reason for switching from my previous network was to save myself money. Overall, I have achieved this, cutting my bills by well over half, and with what I find even better network reception than what I had before.
easyMobile.com is a no-frills Pay-As-You-Go service. It utilises the t-mobile network, and their service in terms of reception is very good.
There are so many benefit of ... ...thing is that you do not have to worry about what time of the day you use your phone - morning, night, weekends etc, they are all charged at the same rate. This is the problem with the other networks. For example last time I checked, to make a call during the day on O2, from a pay as you go phone was about 40-45p. easyMobile is only 15p and time of the day. Texts are charged at 5p, which is half of what all the other networks charge on PAYG. If you ...

Advantages: Cheapest calls/texts on PAYG Disadvantages: No 'top up' card, plus £5 fine
I was fed up of Orange, after 4 years of using them on PAYG, i decided there must be a better provider!
I was constanly putting £10 credit on my phone, only for it to last under a week, as i was paying 12 p a text and 35 p a minute on calls.
After doing my reserch on the internet, i came across 'easymobile'. It's from the same company as 'Easyjet' and 'Easycruise' amongst many other 'Easys' lol.
It promised that i would pay only 5 p a text and ... ...company i called. This was a great deal! so i signed up straight away. I managed to keep my number from Orange, and for paying £5 for credit, they gave me another £5 for free on sign up!
The company is internet bound, and has no stores or offers contracts and phone models, so you may have to pay for your PAYG phone to be unlocked from your call service (roughly £20).
i was saving 7 p a text and 20p a minute on phone call LESS compared to Orange!. ...

Advantages: Apparently cheap call charges Disadvantages: Poor reception (in my area), awful customer service, penny pinching attitude
Very rarely do I have a conversation with a company that really doesn't 'get it' re customer service. Easy Mobile have definitely won this years award in my book.
Back in July I thought I would try their new service. I signed up for two Sim card/accounts at £5 each on their website and a few days later the cards turned up. Now when I first popped the card in the phone I couldn't get any network signal since both cards had not been 'activated' (I ... ...website and activated them. Within a few hours it was working. However it was working very badly. I had one bar signal strength that kept disappearing about 70% of the time. So I rang them back up and told them that the service was no good to me. The guy on the phone said it was ok and I could cancel on their website and get a full refund since I had not made any calls (both cards had £5 of credit on them). So I went through the cancellation procedure.

Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, Great Customer Service, Automatic top-up Disadvantages: None, maybe that you can't buy top-ups in store but this doesn't bother me
Finally decided to switch to easymobile as i'd had enough of geting charged 12p for texts and 40p to call a different network. I received a total of £25 airtime credit and paid a tenner. Their recommend a friend service works great as you both recieve £5 if you mention the person's easymobile telephone number at sign up. - Example of great Customer Service - I signed up on the last day of their offer giving you £20 credit for £10. I was only credited ... ...their 'recommend s friend' scheme. I e-mailed the customer service desk and within a couple of hours saying that both of our numbers need to be ported(We transferred our existing numbers which was very easy to do in the sign up process, just enter your PAC code which you get from your current network and mobile number) and to conact them once this has been completed. On the day my number had been ported I went on their online customer service chat ...

Advantages: Cheaper to run, no contract Disadvantages: E Top Up card not excepted everywhere
of course, hands free kit for safer driver, even though you should not use your phone whilst driving. A Virgin service pack which contains a bounty of goodies such as your SIM card and completely new phone number, a £5 airtime voucher, service guide to get you up and running, and quick guide for those of you who are really impatient. Some funky contact cards and a VirginExtas guide, and a Virgin Net CD, I use mine as a drinks coaster, so it did come in handy.
This Virgin.com/mobile phone site is easy to master and very simple to purchase a new phone with a good variety of the latest mobiles, competitively priced and good value for money.

So would I recommend this phone? Yes is the answer but there are many better phones on the market if you want to part with a little more money. The Samsung V200 is an alternative if you are looking for a camera phone. I find this phone easy to navigate, small and light and great for battery and reception.

ours.
The phone has a built-in WAP browser which allows you to access WAP services. The screen is fairly large and will display graphics that fit within the WAP standard - for instance it will handle all the graphics elements of waphq.com.
The setup of the WAP settings is reasonably easy which is fortunate, since once you discover the restrictions imposed by using your mobile phone company's own wap portal, you will soon want to break out and use an independent one such as Totalise! (www.totalise.net)
Motorola have built-in Voice Activated Dialing to the Timeport. There were complaints when the phone was originally released that the voice recognition was poor. However there has been an upgrade to the software recently and I have had no such problems - it gets the right person about 95% of the time, which allowing for factors such ...
