Air travel is now a very competitive industry with budget airlines popping up all over the place. However, they appear to receive quite a lot of negative press from both the bigger airlines and the travel press. I am writing this to enlighten all you cynic's that flying really can be Easy!

Booking

Nothing could be simpler - the website www.easyjet.com is the simplest site I have ever found. You simply chose your departure airport, select your destination airport and click to the dates required. The site then gives you several options for flights. It will give you the original dates selected by yourself and also the previous days flight options and the following days options. It also gives you the flight number, the departure and arrival times and most importantly the cost of the flight. All you have to do to obtain a full costing is to put a "click" in the required flights and select continue. At this stage you still have not booked a flight. The next page give a total cose of the flights selected including any taxes payable. Following this quote the only other extras are credit card fees if you chose to pay by credit card which is approximately £4.00

I have just returned from a nine day holiday in Spain. I checked lots of Airlines and Easyjet were by far the cheapest at £89.00 return!! Also Easyjet have very regular sales and recently were selling tickets to Amsterdam for £10.00 retun including taxes. Take it from me, for the select destinations Easyjet fly to, they are by far the cheapest.

Check-In

You would be forgiven for thinking that the service or quality must be in some way lessened to compensate for the cheap fares. You are wrong. The check in couldn't have been simpler. Easyjet are a ticketless airline. You simply take the reference number from your on-line booking and passport to the check-in desk and the procedure is complete. You only have to check in 1 hour before departure and not the standard 2 hours and the staff couldn't be any more efficient. They also operate a free seating policy which means when you board the aircraft you may sit where you like, which means if you like to sit near the window you can. Likewise, if you board the plane first, you can sit at the extra legroom exit seats for no extra charge.

Summary

In short, I found the entire experience to be very simple and stress free. Although I am a frequent traveller and have used Budget Airlines in the past, I have found them to be lacking in customer service and focus. This cannot be said for Easyjet, the staff are friendly, professtional and efficient and I will definately be flying with them again in the fute.

It's not the flying I'm afraid of, it's the crashing however, I felt very safe and comforable flying with Easyjet.

Also one thing worth mentioning it that Easyjet are the first Airline to enable customer to amend their bookings on line - a bonus for us with busy and hectic lifestyles!!
