Advantages: Good place to find things Disadvantages: Thinks more about fees than its customers
This is only my recent experience of ebay, and on a possitive note it is a good place to find things that would take a lifetime to find. As a buyer I can not really fault the site with easy layout and searching options. Sometimes postage can be high on certain items. Ebay have tried to counteract this, by making all seller of dvds and cds and vhs videotapes not charge any postage. To encourage sellers they have a free insertion charge if you start ... ...that dvd that you put on at 99p sold for 99p, then you get to the post office just to be told your dvd weighs over 100 gm so will cost you 74p to post, pay 5p to ebay for letting them sell you dvd, and another 5p to paypal, so ta da you've earned 15p on your 99p. I have sold a lot of dvds in the past on ebay, and this new system puts me off, there excuse is that there is a lot of sites such as play.com that offer free postage, so to compete they ...

Advantages: Good way to declutter or grab a bargain. Disadvantages: Non-existent customer service.
I have been using ebay now for longer than I'd like to admit and yes, it does have its advantages. There is the excitement of bidding on items, the freedom of shopping from home without restricting hours and the opportunity to grab a bargain. But is it always a bargain? I'd like to say yes, but I fear, not always. I have bought so much stuff on ebay that has either ended up back on ebay or in a charity shop. Is it really worth it? Is one man's junk ... ...to grab genuine bargains. For example, I just sold a 100% silk top to the value of £40 for only £5, so someone out there has got themselves a great buy and I have cleared some space from my cupboards. It's also great for finding things which are difficult to get a hold of, retro stuff or car parts or whatever you may need- it's probably on ebay. Plus, you can sell your junk you no longer need and get some cash for it, great! Thankfully, ebay operates ...

Is it just me or do things seem to have gone a lot more expensive on ebay??? I was recently bidding on an Adidas tracksuit for myself.....for the gym, cos I'm on a diet ya know!! lol Well anyways, the bidding went up to about £16.50 and the with about 15 hours or so to go the seller withdrew it from sale!! It was listed for with a starting ... ...happy with £16.50 why not use the buy it now feature???? I would have been well happy with £16.50, seeing as I bought a brand new one last month for just £20!! Back to the review...... I think with the credit crunch more people are using ebay as a way of earning themselves a bit of cash...nothing wrong with that, but my how the prices have changed since I was using it about 3 years ago.
