Start your own Online Business on eBay
eBay is an online auction house, but more commonly referred to as an 'online marketplace' because many items can also be bought at a fixed price. eBay is one of the most visited websites on the Internet and can only be described as an online phenomenon, ... Read review

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Compulsory Free P&P on certain categories, complaining very hard, fixed width design: non w3c
Ebay make it compulsory that you have to have free postage and packaging on products in categories like bags and DVDs. But lets you charge what you like in the jewellery category. When you enter something in a category that is enforced by ebay as free p&p it still lets you type in an amount but then throws up the error when you try and submit the listing 'postage cannot be more than £0.00' so why is that field there then? I tried to complain about ... ...in circles trying to find where to make a complaint. The 'Contact us' page is an utter falsehood in name (IMO), you type in a question get given a bunch of completely unrelated options and when you hit the Email Us button then you get this in a pop up message: 'Before we get started, can you tell us about your question or problem in Step 1? That way, we can give you answers right away and show you the best way to contact us for assistance' Well Im ...

Advantages: Very easy to use, good benefits, excellent choice, good shopping from home experience Disadvantages: Has always had the same layout, tickets touts selling tickets for double face value!
Ebay is a revolutionary website in which people can pay a small fee to buy and sell items of all kinds, to people all over the world. Ebay is well known for being the place to find tickets to gigs, designer goods, and rare music and film memrobillia. I was a little scared of Ebay at first, but it's very easy to use. You can sign up for free. It's so easy to find what you want, and the choice is excellent. The feedback process is the key to it's success ... ...have been buying and selling now for about 4 years, and have not had any problems (even got my money back from my Michael Jackson tickets!) You just have to check peoples feedback and feel happy with what your buying. When selling, you must be honest and straightforward. I think good communication is vital.
When there are any problems with the site or announcements you are always quick to be alerted. I love the vouchers you get, and building up ...

Advantages: Grab yourself some good deals! Disadvantages: Some ebayers may be cons!
We all love Ebay, don't we? I mean, grabbing a gorgeous new pair of shoes for a fiver! You can't get much better than that! But in my opinion, there are also many cons going around on ebay! For instance, how do you know that £150.00 you're paying for the 3 night Spanish cruise is not a con? And of course, many people have been conned out of tens, hundreds of pounds. I would first of all suggest that everybody looks at the sellers feedback, and if ...

Advantages: Lots of sales items Disadvantages: Very expensive to sellers and biased towards buyers - easily scammed and open to abuse.
As both a seller and a buyer and am now really disappointed at the way that e-bay has shifted the bias towards buyers and taken away the ability of sellers to leave negative feedback about dubious buyers.
From experience buyers can take ages to pay for an item and then demand a refund on the basis that they do not like the item or for other superfluous reasons without the seller being able to respond in a structured manner.
The sole use of PayPal ...

Advantages: A place to sell your things Disadvantages: High fee's, Stupid ebay rules and an unfair rating system
Ebay was a good site a few years ago but over time, like most things, it has been ruined by its owners in search of higher profits. Ebay is a great way to sell your old 'junk' and can make the average person a lot of money. Recently it has come to my attention that Ebay are taking down listings that have too many words in the titles (word spamming) and many authentic goods are being taken down every day as to avoid legal battles encase the products ... ...other fakes to be sold on the site. Ebay fee's are rising all the time and soon any profit from items on the site will be swallowed up by paypal and ebay fee's. The site has also got a reputation lately for getting hacked and people having their accounts accessed by third parties who then sell and buy goods illegally. Ofcourse the site has its good points, namely a huge market to advertise to and somewhere to sell your old items but there are better ...
