eBay.com is the world's most popular auction site, with hundreds of thousands of auctions taking place at any given time. The range of products sold on the site (and also on its international subsidiaries such as eBay.co.uk) is very wide, and it is usually possible to find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, the high number of site users means that while good for sellers (their item reaches a large potential customer base), it is becoming harder and harder for buyers to pick up real bargains. Although it costs nothing to buy at auction, the recent introduction of listing fees means that on top of paying commission if you sell an item through the site, you must now also pay eBay a small listing fee, nonrefundable even if your item does not sell. Although this is a great site for collectors of anything, one cannot help but liken it to a glorified car boot sale.
