Everything I put up on ebay doesn't sell. In fact, the last few items I tried to sell didn't move at all even though I had a very low price. However, this was Christmas time and probably what I offered wasn't of interest at this time of year.
So why do I like ebay? Well, I've tried several other auction places. I don't think they get the traffic that ebay gets. Also, customer service at ebay is excellent and quick.
When I have sold through ebay I have met wonderful people on line. Some have even become friends and all from buying something from me from ebay.
Ebay keeps good records of my sales. I can go to my page and see what I have sold for the past year. I can see what I have purchased. This is very helpful to me in keeping my own records.
One customer tried to skunk me. That is, they didn't pay in a timely fashion. I contacted ebay and they straightened out very quickly. I made the sale, the customer go the item and all was fine.
So if you are looking to sell items I'd recommend ebay. They even have a regional section which is especially great if you are selling a big item such as a car or boat. People in your area who bid on your item can make arrangements with you to see it in person. This is how my friend sold her car through ebay to someone who lived in Connecticut, not far from where we live.
If there is a downside to ebay, I don't know what it is. Sure, I'd like to sell everything I put up there, but that's up to me. Ebay also is very charitable. They help Rosie O'Donnell with her charityauctions by providing the service free. She makes thousands of dollars and donates it all to children's charity called FOR ALL CHILDREN.
