I signed up for ebay as I had a baby and not having planned another (4 was fine thanks) I gave all my clothes and accesories away.........bingo 1 year later baby number 5. Luckily I have a good circle of friends and was also able to ask for the return after use of the clothes I gave away-but it wasnt enough. I didnt fancy paying high street store prices for clothes I will definately NOT be using again-WILL KEEP YOU POSTED-LOL.

After the initual sign up, I was annoyed that I had to wait a couple of days for my letter enclosing details of my accounti.e. password etc. If any one was able to get it direct through their email box I would be happy to know how. I was desperate to get in there and start bidding, so was over the moon when my letter came and you couldnt stop me even if Brad Pitt was in the room.

As I said I wanted baby clothes-hhmmmm-forget that, i was everwhere-Brio for the boys (we all know how expensive that is), vacuum cleaner bags, clothes for me(of course) and the list goes on.

Bidding is straightforward enough, as you informed what the highest bid is to date and who it was-which I find helpful as you can check if the bidder is a proffessional-for example as regards to brio, you get bidders who have their own web sites and will always bid higher to sell on later......so I never bother there. You are immediately contacted via email to tell you you are the successful highest bidder and are informed immediately when outbidded, with a link attached to go straight to the item and to place another bid if you want(That is great as it saves searching around for the product again)

After placing a few bids, I was sitting down one night watching telly and a programme came on about people being ripped off over ebay. Well I was panicking-do I send my money to these 'strangers' or what? There is a history attached to every person who has sold or bought on ebay, informing you if they are reliable etc.....I still wasnt convinced. But as I expected I won a few auctions......argggghhhhh what to do-if I pay I might get ripped off if I dont my history will be bad and might affect future purchases.....so I paid-or should I say I got the boyfriend to pay through paypal-lol. I must say I find it quite annoying when you receive the confirmation that you won the auction as you are given details on how to pay and cost of p+p, but not always all the details are there and you have to contact the person and if you are lucky they get back to you immediately and if not-like me a few times-you hoover about your email waiting!!! So make sure all these little details are on the actual page of the item you are bidding for.

NOT ALWAYS A GOOD DEAL

Yep thats right-the picture looks great but when you receive the item it really isnt up to scratch and there is not alot you can do about it. I got a pure wool coat once that looked like the sheep whose wool it came from. So be careful-clothes are always a gamble........I got a top once too that was meant to be my size(no am not indulging my secrets)but I ended up giving it to my 14 year old daughter and it fit her perfect???

Its true what I read in another opinion earlier that some peolpe just dont know when to stop bidding....I can understand why cos I got carried away at first and have to laugh now at how naive I was-paying over the odds.........Always check before you place a bid how much the item would cost in a shop or over the internet.......asregards clothes check out discount stores too.....there is usually a better deal to be had and these clothes are new. Make a note of what I am about to tell you....I receive regular emails offering me lessons on how to MAKE MONEY OVER EBAY-by that they mean finding outlets that will sell you goods cheap then reselling them over ebay......these are the immediate sales you can make and trust me these people are making a profit-BIG TIME. Oh and dont forget to add on p+p when placing a bid as this often brings a purchase to the price you could expect to pay in stores!!!!

I have only ever sold one item over ebay and what a palava that was. I won two tickets for a football match (still to this day dont remember entering any competition as I hate the game-sorry guys). The match was a week away and my son said he would go.....but then he met a girl-lol, that was the Monday and try as I might noone wanted the tickets-even for nowt.....so I went to Ebay. Dilemma-match on Saturday-public hols Friday so no post-so the people who bidded highest for them would have to pick them up......so I put all these details in. The problem is the item must go up for auction for minimum 3 days(maximum 7days). In my case this didnt seem reasonable but am glad to say i sold the tickets for a couple of quid short off their value-not bad seen as though they were free. The highest bidders were two young lads who lived 3hours drive away.(Just goes to show there is always someone who wants what you dont!!) We met them-1 and a half hours before the match and am glad to say they made it and informed me by email later that the seats were great(sitting) and asked me to contact them if I ever got tickets again. Would i sell again........yes, my kids and boyfriend are already sifting through the accumulated junk-problem is we dont have a digital camera-which makes it much easier and faster to put pics up-you will find that items without pictures dont get so many bids so always submit a picture. Now Boyfriend says I have to let him buy a digital camera for xmas-lol-what can I say......WE ARE ADDICTED-one mans junk is another mans treasure..............oh how true

Ebay is the way if you take the time and use your good sense............but like me try and have fun too...if you make some mistakes..learn from them-Saves standing in the rain at a car boot sale.
