IN THIS REVIEW I SHALL BE CONCENTRATING ON EBAY.CO.UK
EBay is an online auction website where people can list items for sale, or can purchase items from other users. EBay makes its money by charging sellers listing fees to list items. Each eBay account can be used for buying and also for selling. A user can start selling after registering a credit card, a ISP Email or via Direct Debit.
I have been on Ebay since November of last year, and to be honest i dont think a week has gone by where i havent checked the site. I Buy And Sell of Ebay and it has become something of a hobby!
>>> The Site The Ebay Site is very big, with millions of pages, especially if you consider all the international pages. It was founded in 1996 by a man named Pierre, im sure hes happy!
>>> The Layout The layout of ebay is very easy to use and after using the site for a week you should become very familar as to what is where and when etc. The buttons are simple and easy, and there is no Computer Jargon to Confuse the user, but at times this can be problem, Ebay is idiot-proof. The Auction Pages are Sectioned into relevent sections for your conveineince, for example if you wanted to find a Barbie doll, you could either click on Search and type it in, or browse by Category for example, TOYS!
>>>The Charges This Section is for sellers only. Ebay Charge a fee if you list an item for sale. This fee varies depending on the starting value you used for your auction, there is also various other fees for other options, like pictures etc. Ebay also charge if you have a succesfull sale, which i personally dont like! But yet agian this various with the cost of your item. For Example, your item sells for £1 ebay charge 5p, it sells for £100 they charge £5! It is usually around the 5% mark.
>>>The Ease of Use For buyers ebay couldnt be simplier, just be polite, be sensible and bid responsibly and you shouldny have any trouble. Its a fairly easy process. For sellers its also an easy thing apart from working out profits, and fees etc.
>>>The Sellers BE WARNED- Ebay isnt all happy people trying to make a few. There are genuine con-men an ebay, and its a shame that rarely nothing is done. They sell 'crap' like links to other websites, and Information on how to get products for £20 etc! Please Ignore them! Ofcourse there are THOUSANDS of great people on ebay selling and this is usually reflected in there feedback! Have fun!
>>>The Customer Service The Customer Service Forum is a fantastic feature on ebay, its a forum where users help other users and if you have a problem you can be sure of recienving a reply within minutes. Ebays Email Support is terrible as it takes very long to get a reply and usually the problem is resolved before they answer. TUT TUT EBAY!
>>>Feedback On Ebay there is a handy feedback feature which lets user leave Positive or Negative feedback about there experience with a seller, this is a handy and easy way to learn about a seller and their relabilty before you bid/buy.
