E-Bay is a great website (I use the .co.uk version but it is just about the same)

This must be the most famous bidding site that people know, and I hardly blame them.

E-Bay is easy to search through the menus to get to the product type that you want to bid on e.g. PC & Video Games - then click on PS2 for PS2 games.
You can then type in a search criteria e.g. Vice City to search for GTA Vice City. Click search and then all Vice City games for the PS2 will be displayed.
They will be sorted automatically into finishing order, so the top one may only have 2 minutes left to bidding is finishing. The current price of the product will also be displayed.
I do not see any point of searching for auctions that still have more than a day left, buts that’s easy to avoid by clicking on items ending today.

If you want to bid you first have to register but once you see a product that you like you can bid on it by clicking on the hyperlink, once the page is loaded you will be able to bid. Remember to check postage costs. Then click on Bid now and type in the MAXIMUM that you are willing to pay for the item, and then it will ask you to confirm your bid.
Once you have done that the site will tell you if you are the highest bidder or if you are outbid.
If you are outbid you can bid again if you like.
If you are the highest bidder you are currently winning the item until someone bids higher than you, or if you’re lucky you may win the product for less than your maximum bid.

If you win you wil message the seller and tell them you have won the product, what the product is and the item number, an ask for their address so you can send a cheque. You can then post the cheque but with the cheque put a piece of paper with your name and address on it so you do receive the product.

Sellers ususally like to be contacted within 3 days of you winning the auction.

One thing if you decide not to send the money you wil receive bad feedback from the seller and wil probably be banned from bidding on their auctions, or worse you could get permanently banned fromthe site.

You can pay by cheque, or some of the bidders accept paypal.

You can also sell items but you have to pay for this. The price is 20p for the basic page with 1 picture and a description but if you are willing to pay more you can have more pictures, a subtitle, bold writing and more. There is also free listing days a few times a year when you can sell your items for free.

To go about selling items you first have to have a picture of the itms, and fill in details about the object. You can then choose to put it into its specific category and write details about th itms, and choose Postage costs, starting bid, reserve price, and the length of the auction (3, 5, 7 or 10 days)

WARNING! This site is very addictive and once on the site you wont leave til you have bid on 1 or 2 or 100 items.

I wouldn't dare write a review on eBay, there's just too much to cover. I buy lots of stuff there including clothes for myself and jewellery as gifts. My daughter will be 18 this year so I've been collecting charms for a bracelet for her. The idea is that there will be 18 of them, each with some relevance to something that's happened in her life. By bidding on charms through eBay, I must've saved at least half of what they would otherwise have cost me, if not more! ~Sharon

Good review.........but there's so much more you need to know before you sell. Buying's no problem.......the site is pretty straight forward. But......you didn't say how addictive it is......lol.....I cant go in there without bidding on something which looks a good deal. Doesn't say much for my will power, does it?......Pt x

Advantages: Simplicity is the key for this sight. Listing an item is no harder than going to a car boot sale
Disadvantages: Overall very few. The main dis-advantage would be fakes, in my experience
