I have been "Ebaying" for a few years now and find it really easy to use - even from my 1st visit I knew what I was doing. Ebay has loads of guides to help you if you are stuck even on the most trivial things.
Buying is very easy and you get your item quicker by using 'paypal' the online payment site (run by ebay) you can use you're debit/credit card and even your bank account. I found this is safest way of doing business as if you buy from a dodgy seller (ie does not send item, sends a fradulent item when described as authentic) you can claim it back from their paypal account. If this should happen you can lodge a Squaretrade complaint and complain direct to ebay (if the seller gets a certain amount of these strikes s/he is banned from trading off from the site.
As for selling - very easy when you start to sell you are taken though the various stages of the auction page until it takes you to a preview if you dont like anything on it you click on the link to go back to the area to ammend it.You can add backgrounds to your items plus there are loads of upgrades to make your auction stand out more. As you get more used to the site for selling you can start to use HTML that way you can add animated gifs, flashy back grounds, the list is endless ( I do this by writing my auction in Frontpage converting it to HTML then copy and paste on to the site)
Once you have sold your item make sure you pack it properly and post it same day as Payment has cleared.
You will then get FEEDBACK -this is where buyer and sellers can comment on the transaction leaving a Positive,Negative or a Neutral. When you decide on the feedback ask yourself .was it as described,Delivery time(fast or slow - depending on payment method of course),communication (did they email you letting you know payment received/cleared,item dispatched, notification of any problems).
Like I say a very easy site with a great community atmosphere (even has message boards to chat to other ebayers). Happy Ebaying!!!!!
