The site that everyone is now joining has taken Britain by surprise. Ebay.co.uk and Ebay.com is now one of the most popular websites through-out the world and it is supposedly growing with over 80,000 more new members joining every single day.
------------------ What Is EBay ------------------
EBay is an online auction site where after registering; you can bid for almost anything in the world. Bidding can start as low as £0.01p, but if you’re not quick things can become much move expensive. As long as you 18, and have a credit card, you can sign up to EBay straight away and start bidding seconds after registering.
------------------ How It Works ------------------
EBay works like most auctions, except for two things. The auction is online, and can last up to 10 days before the winning bid is successful. What you bid on, and how much is up to you. Most items go for alot lower than RRP prices, so there are plenty bargains out there. Buying isn't the only thing you can do, setting up EBay shops and selling your own goods is just as easy. Many shop owners in the UK and worldwide have introduced there shops contents to EBay worldwide, but you can still easily sell you unwanted items from home.
-------------- The Catch --------------
There is no catch attached when registering to any of the EBay sites. The only times you will have to pat more than your winning bid, is for P+P. When selling items on EBay, an introduction fee is charge for putting your item on the site, but with millions of people looking at your item every day, you fee should be paid back soon enough with profit.
Hundreds of new items are put on for auction every second worldwide, you just need to find them, and bid. EBay is a great site to go and buy all the things you are missing around your house, or if you want a new house, they sell those as well. From washing machine to neon lights. To game systems for Hong Kong to stink bombs in the UK. You can really bid on practically anything.
There is a barging or two out there for anything, and hundreds of people are quitting there work to sit in their homes and run EBay shops worldwide. EBay is a great website which you should defenetly join.

A few things you've mentioned are a bit inaccurate. People can join without a credit card if they use an ISP provided email address. O2 works too and you can sign up for that so long as you've got a mobile phone. There are risks with using eBay. Also, ebay don't sell the stuff, it's the users.
Advantages: Great for bargains; easy to use; looks good Disadvantages: Too many scammers & awkward sellers; fees quite high; low chance of being noticed
