eBay used to be a nice place to buy and sell all types of items that you maybe could not find a buyer for in your local area.
Now, its full of absolute junk or shops selling items at the same price they are for sale for on the originating shop's website.. Its also full of cheap 3rd rate products that you should never consider buying - Needless to say, I no longer search ebay for any cheap deals!
It makes ebay a waste of time for buyers, you may as well cut out the waiting and bidding and just buy the item you want just as cheap from an online shop. It will take you hours to sift through all the junk on ebay to find a decent quality product anyway! (even the 'new' items are usually cheap rip-offs)..
Its basically a flea market on the internet (and should be called flea bay)...
It also seems that whenever you want to buy anything you pay way over the amount you would want to, but then when you come to sell you cant give your item away! and if you do then all your profit is spent in ebay fees.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
thanks for the comments and ratings..
in response, id like to say -
@jez - where i have bidded for items I do keep my bid to an amount i see fit, the problem is that in my experience someone is always willing to pay over the odds just to outbid you which means you dont get the bargain deals you used to on ebay
@susan - i see you run your business through ebay and i also have friends who do the same thing. I agree, there are many legitimate, high quality goods sold through ebay, but in my experience those are the minority of items and it takes a lot of sifting through the rubbish to find them - my review was targeting ebay.co.uk as a service, not particularly all the products sold on there, or ebay as a company. You could well sell your products through other outlets, but i suspect you have chosen ebay because of the vast number of users, not because of a high quality service they provide.

If you think you are paying too much, why not just bid lower?
