Advantages: easy to access, great way to make a bit of money

Is it just me or do things seem to have gone a lot more expensive on ebay???
I was recently bidding on an Adidas tracksuit for myself.....for the gym, cos I'm on a diet ya know!! lol Well anyways, the bidding went up to about £16.50 and the with about 15 hours or so to go the seller withdrew it from sale!! It was listed for with a starting bid of just 99p so if your not gonna be happy with £16.50 why not use the buy it now feature???? I would have been well happy with £16.50, seeing as I bought a brand new one last month for just £20!!

I think with the credit crunch more people are using ebay as a way of earning themselves a bit of cash...nothing wrong with that, but my how the prices have changed since I was using it about 3 years ago. You can still pick up some great bargains though and it is a fab way to sell things.
There's also a 'community' on the ebay discussion boards which has a few help boards and 9 chat boards, on the chat boards you can have a real good laugh as some of the things people post are great!
It's easy to sign up to ebay and it's definatly worth doing so.
You sometimes have to be careful when buying moore expensive items such as games consoles, mobile phones and tellys, as they can be scams, by which I mean there is no item but you don't find out untill it's too late :o(, things are a lot more secure now though than they used to be with all sellers having to accept paypal as a payment method. With paypal you can atleast claim back your money should an item not arrive/be in the condition stated in the auction.
Generally I quite like ebay, sometimes even for browsing through as there's such a huge varity of items on there your bound to find what your looking for :o)
