Ebay.co.uk is an on line auction, it is vast and there are many catergries to choose from. For example searching for Microsoft Office '97 brought up about 20 pages, or so. That was some time ago. The trouble is that the products which have been submited for auction and the auction has ended for that product, are still on the list, which you get. This can be quite annoying.
The way an online auction site works it by sellers, submitting a product. They have to fill out a form naming the product, lowest price, etc. Then a buyer will come along and will bid for the item. They will be notified if they get it.
A bit of a long process, and you will not find a computer for £2.50 or something like that, they have minimum prices which are set.

Advantages: good place for bargains, relatively good place to sell unwanted stuff Disadvantages: crooks, sellers not well protected against dishonest buyers
