I always buy very cheap vacuum cleaners, so its no surprise really that they seem to give up after about 6 months! I bought this vacuum from a discount website, and it was still less than £90 with postage!

It came to me with very simple instructions, and I had it together within 15 minutes. I had been without a vacuum for about 4 days (a long time in the world of pets and children!) so tried it out immediately. Being 1700w, I had expected it to be quite loud, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was no louder than my old cleaner, which was only about 1400w!

It picked up everything effortlessly, and the crevice nozzle took care of the skirtings, under the sofa and between the cushions with no problems at all. I found it to be a little less effective on ceramic tiles, but not terribly so, and it was still much better than other vacuum cleaners i've tried.

Next to the stairs, which are carpeted. This model came with the Riser Viser turbo nozzle, which is designed for vertical use on stairs, curtains etc. I only tried it on the stairs, and it does pick everything up, but in honesty is not a lot different to using a normal upholstery brush,(which is also included) it just looks posher! I did encounter a problem with the hose not being long enough, so had to carry the vacuum with me for the top half.
I was totally amazed at how easily this vacuum went over my carpets, it seemed to push its-self, and i don't think they've looked so clean since the day they were fitted!

So one gleaming hair and biscuit free house later, and time to empty the dust cup. Possibly the easiest i've ever seen, all you do is slide the lever, the dust cup pops out, and you empty everything into the bin. So easy even my fiance could do it (with supervision of course!) I also cleaned the top and bottom filters and they too were simple to remove and put back.

So, all in all an excellent vacuum cleaner for all surfaces, well worth the money, and it even passed my mothers vigorous testing with flying colours!
