It can also be used as a disinfectant for removable dentures, but am not yet at that stage, so am merely pointing it out.
Sounds a bit of a miracle cure, but the bit I like best is the prevention of plaque; as I get older, this is something which bothers me more and more…I can't see it so it worries me what it may be doing to my teeth.

~~Product and Packaging~~
Open the box and I find a glass (not good) bottle containing 250ml of clear liquid (I know the picture shows red liquid but mine is definitely clear). I can see the liquid so know when supplies are running down. Pressed firmly on top of the bottle is a measuring cup, showing 10ml and 15ml, and indicating that it should be filled with water to the higher level.
The cap screws off, and it's ready to use.
The liquid itself is slightly minty, but as it has been diluted, it's pleasantly minty, and not overpowering- it also leaves no nasty after taste in my mouth.
~~Using it~~
Clean your teeth and rinse mouth thoroughly because it's apparently incompatible with some ingredients in other dental care products. I do wonder if this is a good idea because how rinsed is a rinsed mouth?
I pour the liquid to the 10ml line, although it can be poured to the 15ml mark, and fill to the upper line with lukewarm water, then gargle. It does take two mouthfuls, so it's not really a gargle and go product like a lot of mouthwashes. It should be used two or three times a day, although I tend to use it only morning and night.
There are different instructions for use with removable dentures, which are clearly stated on the instruction leaflet.
~~Other bits of information~~
Not to be used by infants.
If you swallow a large amount, medical advice should be sought.
My own advice is to keep it well above the reach of small people, not only in case they drink it, but also because it is a glass bottle, and I always worry they will drop glass bottles, and smash them.
~~Price and Availability~~
Available from chemists, I bought mine from Boots for £1.65, although I do believe RRP is £4.15, which is quite expensive for a mouth wash.
~~Made by~~
Pierre Fabre Medicament, France
~~What I think of it~~
I bought this because I generally, as normal oral care, use a mouth wash, and this was on sale at a greatly reduced price.
The mouth wash is more fiddly to use than my usual ones, where I just take a swig of liquid, gargle and go. However, I do believe that this is because this one is more medicated than most, and can be used following dental treatment.
It's not overly difficult to use, and is quite pleasant, although there is a very slight numbing sensation straight after use- probably the analgesic properties. It has a nice fresh minty taste and no over powering taste which some mouth washes can have.
I think I would probably find it more useful if I had a medical need for the product, but even as a general mouth wash, I would recommend it if you like to have a fresh sensation after cleaning. It's also great if, like me, you like to feel you are doing some good rather than just rinsing with something with a minty taste, which isn't actually doing anything.
Having no ailments to report, I can't say that it has cured me, but I do feel freshened after use, and do have faith that it is helping to prevent plaque.
A good general mouth wash which I would imagine would be even better for use after dental surgery or for people who find it difficult to reach some of the darker recesses of their mouth.
Advantages: works very well and fast Disadvantages: fiddly to use
This was recommended to my mum by her dentist when she had trouble with her wisdom teeth. She did not need to use it all up and then I had toothache and it was a gum infection so I thought I would use this.
It is fantastic cleared it up with a few uses. I then got another twinge used it once and it was better - I think it is very strong stuff. I would not use it as a daily mouth wash as it is a bit of a faff to use - you have to dilute it with warm ... ...had was on 90ml which was only 9 servings so not very much.
Did not taste any worse than any other mouth washes I use and as it is used with warm water is quite nice. Didn't sting and no side effects.
Would definately use again if I felt had the starts of a gum infection or toothache. ...
