Why exactly you would want to know what breed of dog you are, or what eating style you have is slightly beyond me. It also seems a little odd taking a test to see which sign of the Zodiac you should be, because there isn’t an awful lot you can do to change the one you were born under. But if intrigue gets the better of you, and you think you might want to know, take a look at emode.com.

Emode.com has over 150 tests that you can take to identify your character in a number of different situations. Most of the tests take less than 5 minutes to complete, and the number of questions vary from test to test, but on average there’s about 20 for each.

The tests comprise of a very simple multiple choice answer format. Simply read the question and check the answer most appropriate to you. The only problem I found was interpreting some of the weird Americanisms that were thrown up in the course of trying out various tests... but you could use that issue to your own advantage and claim that the peculiar results you came out with were due to a lack of understanding.

I completed a number of tests (in the name of research rather than curiosity of course), and the results you can see for yourselves.....

The coffee test concluded I am cool in a crisis and open minded. Call me cynical, but can you really tell that much about a person from a cup of black coffee? Hell knows what they would’ve concluded if I was a cafe latte with cream and sprinkles kind of person!

In the personality test, I came out as a shark! I have a robust love of life and a killer instinct. I don’t plan on getting old (does anyone?) and I should run for President. I’m also a lethal flirt, and will do anything for a laugh. Hmm, not too sure about the shark bit, have you ever known a shark that can’t swim? But apart from that....

As for my ‘type’. I’m a ‘guys girl’. Easy going, I enjoy spontaneous fun and hanging out with the guys. I’m also a party animal... vivacious, bubbly and inquisitive, and a goddess of the night. Well I’m not sure about the goddess bit, but I’m certainly more of a night person.

The site itself is not bad. With over 150 tests, there is scope for large amounts of light hearted self discovery to take place. It’s not the sort of site I’d spend too long at though. The design/graphics are very basic, and although navigation is easy, and page loading pretty quick, it soon gets boring (and quite tiring on the eyes) ploughing through endless questions.

You can ‘join’ the site, a simple process requiring a name and email address, and your personality test results will be saved. You can then invite friends and family to take the test too, and compare results. (I know this will sound familiar to some of you..... remember Thespark?)

Emode.com is worth a look, next time you grab a coffee and have a few minutes to spare, try the coffee test and see what your taste says about you.
