I have used various tomatos purees over the years but at 40p this is one of the cheapest and best that I have come across. This very versatile basic ingredient actually brings back a lot of memories for me - it was always a staple ingredient in my Mum's fridge, and she'd use it in all sorts of ways, from bologneses to bizarre concoctions with garlic to ward off colds.
