'E'SURE AS WELL DONT LIKE YOU TO CLAIM... 10 of 19 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Quotes can be significantly cheaper for some customers

Disadvantages Don't like those who claim and under 30's may struggle

I have experienced no end of problems since I decided to insuyre my car with esure.

The nightmare started when I rang for a quote on a new car I had seen and was interested in buying. Having been a customer of Halifax Car Insurance (who were replaced with eSure), I was keen to stay with the company to keep things simple and retain no claims bonuses for that year.

The agent I spoke to confirmed I could have the insurance at a reasonable price so I went ahead and bought the car that weekend.

However... when I rang eSure back to start the insurance they refused to insure me as I was 'under 30'. I had been under 30 for the last 3 years when they had provided insurance for my previous car !!!!

I refused to give up and after numerous conversations with Managers, Senior Managers and even more Senior Managers, I eventually secured my insurance and thought my battle was over. WRONG.

I was involved in an accident in my car earlier in the year. Nothing serious, no-one was hurt but repairs were required to my car. To cut a VERY long story short, I ended up taking my car to my own garage to have all the botched repairs carried out by eSure's recommended garage rectified and months of hassle, upset and conversations with unhelpful and to be honest, plain arrogant staff with no customer service skills.

To have your car 'blow up' as you drive away from the repairs garage is an experience I can tell you. The 'cowboys' that had carried out the repairs admitted to not roadtesting the car before it ws returned to me but eSure didn't want to know. I eventually took up the fight the garage directly but after numerous failed attempts to get the problems sorted I took it to my own garage and everything is now OK, thank goodness.

My advise is steer clear. If you don't, or are already insured with eSure, make sure if you are unlucky enough to need repairs to your car that you demand it be taken to a garage of your choice. Ignore the comments about warranty and extra hassle incurred if you do this - your garage will provide warrnaty on the work they do anyway and I had more hassle than you could ever imagine.
