I would not reccommend you join this club or any other associated bookclub owned by Book Club Associates (BCA).The initial offer seems attractive (3 books for £1 each) and according to the website there is no further commitment to buy. But after that you find that the prices for further books are not cheaper than other web booksellers, and worse, despite the 'no commitment' offer, when you don't order further books they threaten to charge you the 'full value' of the initial order (they have been trying to get me to pay 'penalty charge' of £70.) Also you have to keep refusing the monthly 'recommended book' otherwise it turns up unsolicited on you doorstep. It has taken me 8 months of complaints to get them to remove the penalty charge and that only happened after I wrote to my MP.
Reccommend that before joining you read the many complaints about them at : http://www.britishcompanies.co.uk/seriouscomplaints.htm

I used to belong to these, and got some good books, I found it good for people who can't get to the shops, and read all the small print while abiding with the rules. When I cancelled there were no probs, but I can understand how it happens! Karen
