Excite used to be just a search engine. Now its a lot more. When you type in www.excite.co.uk into your browser, you will be surprised how much is now available, especially if you haven't been there for a while. I was! You just have to sign up and then enjoy them.

Now, there is a whole range of things that you can do. Firstly, excite has joined the likes of genie and lycos, and offer free text messaging. Unfortunately, you can only send three texts per day, but the service is very reliable as far as I know, the messages have been received instantly. Lycos has had a bit of a problem in that department. Also in this 'message centre' there is a free email address waiting to be chosen by you, and also free voicemail and fax, which I have not explored as yet.

As well as the search engine for the web, you can customise the web page to add a cinema search tool which allows you to type in a place, and then the results will reveal what films are on in that cinema.

Excite also has additional information on specific areas which are, a Business Centre, Computers, Education, Entertainment, Games, Health, Horoscope, Jobs/Careers, Lifestyle, Money, Motoring, Property, News, Sport
and Travel. In other words, quite a few! Excite also has these 'cool tools' which are, a 5 Day Weather Forecast, Music on Your PC, Send E-cards, Funny Jokes, beenz Landing Zone, World Maps, Photo Search, Yell.com Yellow Pages. There is also more information on news in the UK, sports news, and money matters news, including share prices.

The fun is completed with a horoscope, which will tell you what is in store for you today. Because you can personalise the website, it gives you something that a lot of other websites don't offer, and that is what makes this website come information centre so great!

The search engine generally, gives quite accurate results, is usually quite fast, and I have only come across one dead link from the search results.
