I have used several travel planners recently, and I have found that Expedia is the best of the bunch, easy search funtions, the only minus is that direct flights often seem to be expensive.
I have used Expedia for a several point visit to the US earlier this year, and everything went well, the customer service is good, and will certainly use them again.
The car hire section is a bit complicated, you get diverted to the operetors website, these are priced in Dollars at the basic hire charge only.
we booked our car through a traditional travel agent, much the same for the hotels service, I have always used Motel 6 in the U.S. none of their sites came up on the search, we booked our rooms on the Motel 6 site.
