Why should I include a picture in my product
review?
Attaching one or more pictures to your product review is an excellent
way of illustrating the points that you make in the text. By uploading
photos of the product, you can show readers design features, or even
faulty parts, which the object may have. Furthermore, the appearance
of products plays an important part in our decisions to buy them.
Your own photos are likely to show products in a more natural setting
than the manufacturers' own glossy publicity shots and so better enable
users to judge what they look like.
How do I add a picture to my review?
Once you have completed the "Write a review" form with the
text of your review, click on the "Send" button. You will
then be given the chance to upload up to seven relevant photos to
illustrate your review. To do so, enter a label up to 15 words long
for the picture in the requisite text field and click on the "Browse"
button to locate the image file on your computer. Then click "Upload".
You can repeat this process for a further six photos. The first picture
uploaded will be presented as the "main" product picture.
What should the technical specifications of
the pictures be?
Ideally, pictures should be rectangular, with a minimum width of 400
pixels and a resolution of at least 72 dpi. Should you wish to offer
a larger view of the picture, please make sure the picture you upload
is at least 700 pixels wide. Suitable file types are JPEG, TIFF, BMP
and GIF. Files should be no larger than 2 MB each.
Can I include other non-text elements in my
review?
You can make your review clearer and easier to read by adding headings,
numbering and other formatting. More information can be found in the
chapter on Formatting Reviews.
