Who can comment on a review?
Any registered Ciao member can comment on a standard product review. If you
are not yet a Ciao member, you can register here.
"Quick reviews" cannot be commented on.
Why should I comment on a review?
The "Comment" feature allows readers to give authors feedback
about the good and bad aspects of their reviews and tips on how their
future review writing could be improved. Additionally, comments give
members the chance to explain and justify the review ratings that
they have given. This is a good way of avoiding the suspicion that
your rating was either delivered as a "pay-back" to a member
who has given you a poor rating in the past, or a "scratch on
the back" to a member of a clicking cartel.
What points should I take into account when
commenting on a review?
When commenting on a review, try to explain the key points that led
you to give the helpfulness rating that you did. Give praise where
praise is due and, in case you are explaining a low rating, try to
remain constructive: remember that the author will probably read your
comment. Give practical advice on how the review could be improved
and made more useful for other shoppers. For further tips on writing
comments, please consult our Guidelines for Commenting a Review.
Can I change my comment later?
No, though you can change your rating of a review, it is not possible
to edit your comment.
Can I see a list of the comments I have written?
Yes. Simply log in, go to your "My Ciao" area and click
on the "Statistics" tab. Here you will find details of all
of the reviews, comments and ratings you have written or delivered.
Click on the links to obtain more detailed information about when

Can I find out who commented on my review?

simply open the review to view the text in full, then scroll down
until you see the link "Read comments" at the bottom of
the page, beneath the text of the review. When you have clicked on
