I decided to take up an account with Freenetname (www.freenetname.co.uk) because they offer you a domain name and 20mb hosting for NOTHING. No monthly fee, no one off fee, nothing. I'm quite a cautious chap so I made sure I researched it before I signed, and although there is a catch it's still an excellent deal. Basically you can sign up online and the service is straight up as it's told. There are no banner ads either, though they reserve the right to add them in future. The catch is you have to pay 94 pounds if you even move your domain, and also you must use their dialup account to send/receive email and upload to your webspace. The account is quick and reliable though so this isn't a major problem unless you're signed up to one of these free deals. Other than this, the service is superb and I would recommend it to anyone who only wants a single domain for business or personal use, and doesn't want to mess about with hosts and ISP's.
