Launched in November 1998, Free UK Stuff is essentially two sites in one: a 'public' site for old offers and a 'members' site for new offers. To save confusion, I'll just state now that it can be reached through five URLs as they've secured their name under the following domain endings: .co.uk, .net, .org, .org.uk and .com. Free UK Stuff is exactly what it seems to be: a collection of free stuff available in the UK. Any overseas hopefuls clicking here are directed to a slender selection of international links. The site is brightly coloured and easy to navigate; pleasingly, the text is contained within a bordered white area. I find it irksome having to read text on a coloured or patterned background. There are several banner/button ads but they are reasonably well integrated and do not interfere with perusing the site. There is currently one pop-up ad, which appears when you click on a freebie link. This is slightly annoying as freebies are displayed in a frame with an ad banner and a link back to the site, so it’s not as if they need to generate further ad pages – which might be necessary if you were 'leaving' the site. I feel the site is 'sticky' enough without having to resort to pop-ups, especially as they tend to alienate site users.
General Public Site ===================
From the Free UK Stuff home page, you can choose to dive into the Public Site or the Members Site. Both sites insist you agree to the Free UK Stuff disclaimer before entering them. Nothing special, just the usual "[Free UK Stuff] assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of any particular statement and accepts no liability for any loss or damage which may arise from reliance on the information [provided]".
Once you're in the Public Site, click on "free sections" for an on screen text menu or use the drop down menu in the top right-hand corner and choose a category. You can then continue browsing alphabetically, or with the two menus.
There are 21 categories currently available on the Public Site: audio/video tapes, business, catalogues, CD-ROMs, competitions, coupons, email, health, internet dialups, miscellaneous, mobile stuff, money, mouse mats, posters, publications, samples, screensavers, software, stickers, URL forwarding, and, web space.
While all the freebies listed are 100% free, they may not be valid as they are all at least 2 weeks out of date. This is because 'new' freebies are listed on the Members Site for 2 weeks before being transferred to the Public Site. Your chances of receiving a freebie listed here are not very high; however, it is worth looking at the most recent additions (at the end of each page). Another point to note is that Free UK Stuff is one of few freebie sites to maintain a 'back catalogue' of old freebies; the next time you receive a freebie that you can’t remember ordering, then you can always check the Public Site to see where it came from.
Members Only Site =================
The Members Site can be accessed from the home page (the "new free stuff" link on the Public Site only lists what is available on this site without providing links). You must join Free UK Stuff to access this site. Membership is completely free - like everything else on the site - and can be obtained by signing up for the Free UK Stuff email newsletter. The only information you need to provide is a valid email address and you will never receive spam as a result. Your 'welcome' message email will include the Members Site username and password and each newsletter will contain freebie news and a sponsor link. You can unsubscribe at any time - and you might as well once you receive the welcome message, as the freebie news is exactly the same as the new stuff on the site.
The Members Site contains all 'new' freebies, which are subsequently moved to the Public Site after 2 weeks - unless the offer runs out before the 2 weeks are up. These freebies are winkled out of the internet by Clarke Duncan, with occasional input from his partner and the Free UK Stuff members. With over 132,500 members, you really have to be quick off the mark to catch some of the offers as companies besieged by thousands of requests tend to run out of stock rather quickly.
Overall Impressions ===================
I have personally received almost every freebie requested via Free UK Stuff, ranging from mouse mats to notepads to beauty product samples. Free UK Stuff is one of my favourite websites; it’s one of only 4 freebie sites that I use – the others being GB3b, Freebiers Club and Borntoloaf. Free UK Stuff is updated nearly every day, although the freebies on offer may not necessarily fit the traditional "freebie" image i.e. they tend to be free print-outs, memberships, coupons, etc rather than product samples. The other sites I use tend to have more samples/merchandise listed. I would certainly recommend adding Free UK Stuff to your favourites and keeping an eye on it every few days. If you’re looking for free product samples though, you may be better off looking elsewhere.
Advantages: Lots of freebies to choose from Disadvantages: Lots of sign-in pages
Yes, that's right, £350 vouchers, chocolate biscuits, chocolates, tons of cat food, pencil cases with rubbers and notepads, roll-up calculators, books, bubble baths, toners and cleansers, shampoos and conditioners, Pepperami sticks, Cif window wipes, a letter weigher, sweets and magnets are just some of the things I have received since I joined this site.
I love freebies and this site is brilliant for freebie lovers. I think it is always encouraging ... ...freebies.
~How I became a freebie addict~
My quest for freebies started when I received a Pepperami through the post. I received this after following a link on a competition page (I am also a dedicated comper, but don't get me started on that topic that's another report I will have to write in the future). I know, I know it was only a Pepperami and it's not as if I'm even particularly fond of Pepperami (I gave it to my sister), but it was just ...

Advantages: you wake up to lots of pressies every morning Disadvantages: you do get some totally useless stuff
This site is the best ever! Freebies galore and none of that filling out the whole form then seeing it says "US ONLY" at the bottom! This ones made specifically for the UK which is precisely why it’s so good, as it means all freebies shown are available to you (if you live in the UK that is!)
There is something for all ages on and the range of freebies is brilliant, they’re giving away everything from toiletry samples to free software.
... ...am on it day and night ordering allsorts; often the stupidest things such as today I received some samples for address labels! Why would I ever need address labels? (By the way they had other peoples addresses on not my own to add to there usefulness!) I don’t own my own home let alone my own business, so why, you might ask did I feel the urge to order them in the first place? Well this is just a tame example of the powers of freeukstuff! It ...

Advantages: you get something for nothing. For once! Disadvantages: You many not actually get it though!
I'm sure I need not explain the concept of this website, or infact other sites like it, so I will just start by explaining why I believe this site to be one of the most comprehensive uk freebie sites around today.
I came across this site around a year ago when I was going through one of my "I'm gonna be a tight-fisted b****rd and try and get as much paid for as possible" phases. Well I think I'm still going through that phase, as I've almost become ... ...thanks to www.freeukstuff.co.uk!
The structure of this site to begin with seems a little strange, but then you begin to realise that the person responsible for it has split it into two sections (effectively two sites). One being the public site, and the other being the members site. Becoming a member is easy, and just requires you to give them your email address for a newletter. Then you can log into the members site with ease. The difference between ...

Advantages: Source of freebies. Disadvantages: Not always uptodate, concern over what companies will do with the info you provide.
Sex sells, scandal generates interest and freebies get the punters rolling in. Most of you at some point will have had a freebie from a company, companies are always giving out free gifts in an attempt to lure you into their fold of loving customers. You get a freebie - they get a possible customer for life.
The problem for those who like these gifts, has been finding out who is giving them away - a problem no solved thanks to the Internet.
Sites ... ...companies that are falling over themselves to give you a freebie. The site itself, has a members area and public area, I strongly suggest you simply ignore the public area, as it is not updated very often, so will just result in you wasting time on out of date offers.
You may struggle with the registration process, I did, but it may have been a one of problem, but once registered you are emailed a password and userid (I have a suspicion everyone ...
