Information for cost concious travellers 14/11/2000

Advantages Abilty to quickly identify good value accomodation and restaurants. Is aimed at mid range travellers looking for good value who finds neither youth hostels or 5 star hotels appropriate
Disadvantages Orientated to US travellers in some cases

I discovered Frommers in a UK branch of the American Borders bookshop chain. Frommers produce a variety of travel resources with a focus on good value budget travel. The main resources I have used, the magazine and the website, whilst aimed primarily at US travellers have a lot of valuable information relavent to UK based travellers. On a recent trip to Budapest for example I took Frommers best value hotel recommendation from their website (Frommers.com) which cost about £60. The room itself was absolutely fantastic in terms of size, decor whilst I would have had difficulty finfdng friendlier ... more
