First-Time Lucky
Review of fsauctions.co.uk (Freeserve) by BNibbles

Advantages: Easy, hands-off exercise. Kept informed.
Disadvantages: Too easy to spend, but then, isn't it always?

Having just decided to have browse through FSAuctions, following a link from the Freeserve homepage, I happened upon exactly the model of TV that I was planning to buy (around next March, that is!). The navigation to get to this point had been relatively easy. The "silly" bids from £1 upwards had already been placed (why do people bother?). Even so, the current bidding with only 1.5 days left, was at around half the shop price, so in I dove, with ...
...that I had been topped, offering the opportunity to better my own bid - this I did, adding in a ceiling beyond which I was not prepared to go. FSAuctions undertake not to tell the seller this. After much sweating as zero hour approached, I was successful, and within minutes got a confirming e-mail with details of how to contact the retailer. The rest is history, having been dealt with like any other on-line purchase. Et voila , a TV retailing for ... Read review

free and easy
Review of fsauctions.co.uk (Freeserve) by alleykatz

Advantages: easy to use, and navigate
Disadvantages: comission on sold goods

I used to sell a lot of goods through freeserve auctions, i started with them when they used to be run by auctionuniverse. I like the easy layout of the site, and its search for items or seller is useful. The auctions ending in an hour, new auctions etc feature is good. It is so easy to list, auctions, you can also use html in your auctions and add pictures, listing is free, you just pay commision on items sold. You can pay if you want your listings ...
...so buyers should find something on there that takes their fancy. They also have a lot of partner merchants, who sell bulk items, often starting at a £1, watch out for these. You can opt to have the newsletter informing you of whats going on, whats hot and not this week. The ratings system is good, you only rate for each auction successfull, I managed to reach number 7 in the top sellers list at one point, but now I no longer sell the items i used ... Read review

Risky
Review of fsauctions.co.uk (Freeserve) by uptyu

Advantages: Goodbargains
Disadvantages: Debited for goods not bought

Having signed up for the Auctions, I decided to have a go at bidding, for a absolute bargain. This was software for Typing the starting bid 1p yes 1p. The Auction was a Dutch Auction with five for sale I made my bid and won along with four others. Not bad some Typing software for 1p plus postage of £1 total credit card debit of £1.01p You are required to deposit your credit card details before you bid and if you win the money is taken from your card ...
...the amounts debited from my card Four of these were not mine and I was not impressed one bit that I was paying for four other items that had nothing to do with me. I contacted Worldpay.com demanding a refund and also Freeserve who informed me that there was new bidding activity going on in my account, they suggested that I changed my password, which I did. After quite a few emails back and forth I eventually received emails from both Worldpay.com ... Read review

I will never trade at fsauctions again
Review of fsauctions.co.uk (Freeserve) by Renegade

Advantages: Majority of users are U.K. residents so you dont have to worry about currencies or language barriers
Disadvantages: Hard to Navigate, not enough users

I have been selling various items at ebay.co.uk for about a year. They had a free listing (now you have to pay a small fee to list an auction)promotion that was drawing to an end. I had an email from fsauctions intriducing me to their site and they had a "Free Listings" special promotion. So I joined fsauctions, I had problems with the site navigation, now it has all been updated but its still not really all that user friendly, I tried to access ...
...recent ongoing and ending auctions. This in itself was very hard as the links dont always help you find what you want. To sell an item you have to give fsauctions a credit card in which they charge £10 "as security" this is due to the fact that they debit your account with a final valuation fee determined on the final selling price of the auction. If you want to join fsauctions then do so, but I can assure you that it is a very complecated affair ... Read review

MISLED
Review of fsauctions.co.uk (Freeserve) by uptyu

Advantages: Good fun. Easy to navigate. Can pick up a bargain.
Disadvantages: Beware who the seller is, even the reputable can mislead.

Won the Auction for a Digital camera, but the camera was not available. About two months ago I entered the Fsauction site and made a bid for a Digital camera, my bib being for £99 plus £5 post and packing. The camera was being auctioned by Evesham Computers who are very well known and supposedly respected. My bid was succesful and I followed the instructions set out by Fsauctions regards contacting the seller to arrange payment, this I did at once ...
...digital camera, and about to take on the David Baileys of the photographic world. I contacted Evesham and was told that the camera I had bid for was not available but I could have a alternative camera with slighly better specifications that would be sent to me immediatly I had given my credit card details, I did this by telephone and confirmation of my order was given to me with the camera to be dispatched the same day. A week went by with no sign ... Read review
