I encountered quite a new gaming site: gamebookers.com - all in all I like the site a lot and can recommend it (after my first testing experience). Thus, I decided to post the following analysis on gamebookers here. Special thanks go to Terje Grefstad from www.bettingadvice.com (I would also recommend everybody to visit this site) from which I got much of the information for this report:

Account opening
Fair procedure. Very helpful and easy understable pages guide you trough the process. Done in 3 min. You can choose your own userID and password which is good. What's annoying: you will have to deposit money in order to become registered. If you want to register first, and then later come back and deposit for betting, this is not allowed. You must reveal your creditcard, or send them a cheque or bank transfer with your money before you can register for an account.

Transactions:
Offer betting in most currencies. Methods of payment: credit card (VISA, Eurocard and Mastercard), bank transfers and cheques. The mimimum deposit is 10 EUR or equivalent when depositing trough credit cards or bank transfers. Credit card transfers are subject to 4% transfer fee on deposits. Bank transfer take 2-7 days. Makes use of Deutsche Bank, and Chase Manhattan. Bank tranfer costs are covered by customer. For cheques, the mimimum deposit allowed is 100 EUR or equivalent. Payouts can be done by bank transfer or cheque. But note that they first credit your credit card with the amount you once deposited trough that card ("charge back").

Navigation:
"Framed site. Menu to the left makes it easy to navigate. The top frame holds login info, and info about the size of your account. At the bottom frame you have more options (bet slip, history, deposit/withdrawal options, etc.). The navigation is good, and well functioning."

Design:
"Delicious design! It's made simple, yet very stylish. Actually this is the place to go to learn stylish design. Excellent!"

Graphics:
"No heavy pics to hamper the download time. There are minor pics that sometime can take a while to download, but you've need something to freshen it up a bit also. I think this site has a good balance when using graphics. Not to little, not too much"

Bet procedure:
Very easy procedure. First pick games, then decide whether to play singles or combos. You can combine everything you want, just browse around the site and add events to your bet slip. No extra clicking, no fuss. Excellent. Provides a good account history, with information about every bet you take. You've got bet slip, history, and open bets n the bottom frame for your convenience. Works very well. There is also a nice bet calculator in the bottom frame which is a good tool for punters

Service:
I wrote them an email with some questions - and got the answer one hour ago while still surfing the web. That was great. Besides, it's down to easy understandable pages, and a well functioning structure and betting procedure. Gamebookers seems to be a creditable company and there is no reason to suspect their level of servive to be under par. They've got a very good FAQ-section, and you can get answers to almost all your questions here. You can easily change your data in the Client data section. They've got a result section for your convenience.

Reliability:
Gamebookers is rather new, and the company was registered in 1998, and is situated in Antigues, West Indies, (as a lot of other sportsbetting companies). Antigua and Barbuda has deemed Internet Gaming to be a legitimate and legal business activity protected and supported under enacted legislation. The International Press recognises Antigua as the leader in regulating Internet gaming. The government is taking strong measures to establish a forward-thinking framework to secure online investing coupled with rigorous regulation. Gamebookers have a licence for their business in Antigua, with licence number 0206A, issued on March 30th 2000. T
his is extra insurence to the customers. Besides the whole site is in 128bit encryption - I haven't seen this high security standards at any other bookie.

Odds:
"As far as I've seen, Gambookers operate with a quite high oddscale. Espescially on the large favourites. This may be a trick to get new customers in the phase they're in now, but this remains to be seen. At the momen, Gamebookers offer very good odds indeed, and the odds does not seem to be slashed so quickly as for example Centrebet (who is reknowed for heavy oddslashing)"

Events offered:
"Offer odds on a lot of activities, not only soccer. Cover most soccer leagues though. formula 1, icehockey, boxing, cycling, basketball, tennis, you name it, they've got it. No problems here."

>>Bottom line

Thanks for the very helpful comments on Gamebookers. I've often seen this bookmaker mentioned on the pages of Betbrain.com but have been reluctant to open an account with a bookmaker I don't know. Your positive experience of the site is encouraging.
