My family pre-ordered a PC game, Lego Indiana Jones 2, from gameplay.co.uk, paying extra for it to be delivered on the release date, Friday 20 November. It was not delivered.
On Monday, gameplay refused to give a refund, and said that they had to wait 'until the courier service driver had been interviewed'. On Tuesday, they said that this would take 48 hours from Monday.
On Wednesday, they said the problem had not been reported until Tuesday, so ...

...very popular PC game from gameplay.co.uk several months before the release date. During those months, I repeatedly checked my order status and all seemed OK.
Finally, on the very day of the game's release, my order status had mysteriously been changed to "Cancelled". I had absolutely not cancelled the order at all. Needless to say I did not receive the game.
I could not belive this has happened, so I wrote a polite email asking why this had happened. ...

Advantages: absolutely NOTHING! Disadvantages: TOTAL lack of customer service and fairness.
Went to their website to order several xbox360 titles. Had to sign up with full address, name, etc. before ordering. Site stated that Billing address had to be the same as credit card states. Filled in everything but their system wouldnt accept the last part of my address, it "cut" it out, very odd indeed. Tried to change the billing address manually by the instructions on their site, but nothing helped it would constantly state that an error had ... ...wait or contact customer support. Working as an IT-consultant i tried all the obvious things such as clearing cache, rebooting, filling in address in serveral logical ways (using , . - etc.) NOTHING helped. I finally gave up and e-mailed customer services (9.30 am) asking them to fill out my billing adress properly (putting in the missing ending..) so that i could go ahead with my order - wich at the time came to a totalt of 117 pounds. 4½ Hours ...

Advantages: Nil could not place an order........... Disadvantages: Could not even manager to place an order as apparently i do not meet their security requirments
Im not sure how the company is still trading.........I have just had the worst customer experience in my life with their extremely inadequate sales team. I places an internet order and for-filled all of their security requirements for the credit card (as I'm the legitimate card holder) only to be emailed a day later with the following statement: '"Unfortunately your order has failed some of our security checks so we are unable to fulfill this order. ... ...check, could you please call the Gameplay Customer Services on 0845 345 4440."' I then rang the company and asked if they could do the further checks as I was baffled that their checks came up with and problems as I was real customer............A day or so later I sent another email following up and got a reply stating they needed my customer number to help (even though there was a reference number attached to the email). Quick review of gameplay.co.uk
Delivery was quick but they sent me the wrong game. Star Wars instead of Raymans Raving Rabbids TV Party! Customer Service very poor no apology or explanation. The returns procedure is pretty basic no form to fill out I had to write a note stating I wanted a refund - a bit old fashioned and they clearly do not monitor their returns to try and improve themselves. Anyway I'm still waiting for an acknowledgement of my return and a refund. I ended up using Amazon to get the game I wanted for an Xmas present. I'd advise people not to use Gameplay they are clearly inexperienced when it's comes to customer service and after sales care. Shop Amazon! ...
