History tells us that it is highly unlikely that an alligator would help you in anyway but will certainly bite you at his own convenience, but what about this little gator that does all the work for you and never asks anything in return. I am talking about the software named Gator, which is apparently very helpful tool while you are working on line. I am sure you all know about Gator but just a brief description before I go any further.
Gator is a small utility which floats on top of your browser while you are online and saves all your information like user name, passwords, addresses and automatically fills the form next time so you don’t have to remember passwords any more or to type any other information again. You can have different profiles allowing all the members of the family to use the same software. It’s a small file which can be downloaded and installed in minutes. So far so good, a very useful utility, but I still won’t recommend it. Why?
Let’s consider some facts, A company invests money and effort to develop a software then distribute it freely to millions of customers totally free of charge, not to forget that it is an internet application which means continuos investment for the maintenance of the site and software and customer support etc, that’s not all they are promoting their product on hundred and thousands of sites and are paying $ 1-2 to webmasters for every download so we are talking about millions again.
Now this seems too good to be true, Why would anybody spend so much without asking anything in return, what’s the catch? Did I mention that the cute little blinking Gator watching you on top of your browser saves ALL information including your credit card and bank details, tracing your surfing habits, the kind of sites you visit, amount you spend, your each and every activity. Imagine a person who knows all your little secrets, that best friend can become your worst enemy.
The fact is all Internet sites that ask for your personal details collect and sell data to the marketing research companies, which are highly paid by the firms, which produce consumer products.
They sell your email and postal address and when you receive a lot of junk mail you can’t understand how they got your address and this is in addition to the junk mail you get officially. They trace your surfing habits so be careful especially if you are a naughty surfer, visiting sites your Mom would not let you. Your Better half to be may get all the information about you by paying them or if he/she is an IT expert by hacking their database.
Regarding your privacy this is the most dangerous software so far as it has excess to all your sensitive details and secure transactions. Although they all claim that they will never sell or disclose your personal details to any third party and some of them may actually stick to their policy but with the misuse of credit card and online fraud increasing every day one has to think that what is going on behind the scene.
These are just a few facts and may not apply on gator (This is just to make sure that they don’t sue me otherwise I do believe in what I am saying).
So if you don’t bother about your privacy than you may find this a very handy and useful utility and you are most welcome to use it but not me .I am a poor guy bitten many times in my life and the last thing I want is an electronic alligator pinching my….. You know.
You can’t get rid off it totally by simply uninstalling it, make sure that you delete all the files from the programme files. In the end I must say that internet has revolutionised the way things are, You are bitten and you can’t even say ouch because you don't feel the pain.....At least not yet.
Advantages: None Disadvantages: steals information from your system
...name, address and credit cards. Gator.com believes that this personal information is, well, personal and belongs only to the consumer. Gator is extremely safe because it stores this information in an encrypted file only on consumers' computers." Also stated is "Gator is completely secure so there's no need to worry about the information you put into Gator. Your private information is stored only on your own computer. And never shared with anyone ... ...as my personal data was certainly not safe. I had been bitten by the alligator. Whether gator directly reports data back or the program is used by others as a gateway to infiltrate your machine is unclear to me, that however is equally unimportant, the fact that this software, diectly or indirectly, is responsible for infiltration was enough to convince me it was certainly not what it appeared to be.
At this time I was not running any firewall or ...

Advantages: Totally free to download, saves time when filling in online forms and login in. Disadvantages: American program which has American offers and some of the details you are asked for are American, so aren't recognised on English forms.
Gator will rapidly become your online companion, as it automatically fills in online forms and remembers login ID’s and passwords, thus eliminating unnecessary typing and the frustration of remembering passwords for different online web sites. This will also save you valuable time as it instantly fills in forms with just one click. This software program is essential, to any one that loves sending for freebies or entering competitions online.

How it works
~~~~~~~~~~~
When you have downloaded Gator, then it remains quite discreet until there is an online form to fill in, or you need to fill in your login and password. It will then ask you if you want Gator to remember the password and login name, after that it will automatically remember your information and will log you in every time you ...
Advantages: nothing Disadvantages: See the ENTIRE text above, the worst is the spy software it neglects to tell you it is using.
I downloaded Gator after it popped up in one of those really annoying advert windows you sometimes get on sites. I was enticed by the blurb about never having to fill in forms etc... and so I gave it a go. I wish I hadn't bothered.
Firstly, I had to sit for hours entering loads of info that its very unlikely I will ever use. Then, despite the assurances Gator gave about not giving out my email and personal details, I found that my email address ... ...but I dont use this address, I only set it up so I could put it in on Gator to see how it worked before commiting my real email account to it. Isn't that a breach of UK law or something? Data protection act and all that?
Oh well. The program itself was poor at doing what it was supposed to as well. The promise was that it would 'fill in all your forms''no need to fill out a form ever again'. Well, thats not strictly true. Gator was annoying because ...
At first I thought this was a great idea, with so many password to remember these days you do need some extra help. So I had little hesitation in downloading the sofwatre from the site. It works with you as yu are working online. It’s a small tool that floats on top of your screen and stores all your username and password. For the first couple of weeks this software was excellent, it made logging in and out very easy. No loner did you have ... ...be hacked into. However, it was only when a friend wanted to use the internet that I started thinking about this software. It didn’t seem that rosy anymore. When she went to hotmail, my username and password came out. And although she’s a good friend I still would want anyone to know my passwords. So, I turned it off and felt a touch let down. But, it didn’t stop there, when I went back to the site. I felt a bit suspicious. This ...
www.gator.com Take the grind out of online form filling and password entry
This little utility is very useful, a freeware programme downloaded from the above site, Gator allows you to fill in forms within websites automatically. Gator allows you to store your home and/or work details, i.e. address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card details on your computer. (I have just downloaded an upgrade of Gator recently and remember the accompanying ... ...your machine, in otherwords Gator doesn't have access to it.) Gator is password protected once on your machine so only you and/or people you trust can gain access to it (For example little Johnny can't use it to order £500 worth of Pokemon cards online) and appears, from my experience, to work in two different ways. 1.0 Drag and Drop. You can drag and drop information from your Gator form to the website form that you are filling in. 2.0 Automatic ...
