Selling through GEMM made up about about 10% of our total sales, while GEMM supplied us with 90% of our problem customers. GEMM processed the orders, but withheld payment to us for 2 weeks. Frequently GEMM customers would complain about the orders they received, making demands over and beyond what they had paid, and often refusing to even return merchadise for refund. In 100% of such cases GEMM refunded the entire amount charged to the customer, ... ...In other words, the buyer wins, no matter what. WE were immediately charged back, denied not only profits, but also left with considerable loss. If anyone is looking for free merchandise, GEMM is their place to shop. Sellers always lose. GEMM also has a rating sytem where buyers can let off steam, but sellers don't have that same opportunity. In other words, unhappy buyers can warn other buyers, but sellers don't get any warning about fraudulant ...

From a Seller's point of view, Gemm is the worst site I've sold on (out of five). So far I have had a thoroughly bad experience with it. The navigation is confusing, the whole site is laid out in tiny text with no graphics to speak of, and when I made my first sale they hauled me over the coals for invoicing the seller directly - the assistant's statement about it was: "Did you not pay attention at all to the text displayed when you signed up to ... ...everything when you sign up, because there's not much opportunity to refresh your memory later. It doesn't help that browsing through preferences causes more screens to open - I'm on the site now and I have three browser windows open, just for Gemm. I would never do this for other sites.
Under 'Seller's Guide' > 'Order Processing' there are two links to the same section (!) which says "The customer has the option to send payment either to you or ...

GEMM (the Global Electronic Music Marketplace) is not a retailer (although it does handle some payments) but rather a directory containing the listings of thousands of second hand music sellers around the world -- over 11 million items are listed in total.
Obviously delivery times and fill rates will vary greatly depending on the actual retailer, but GEMM does a good job of maintaining statistics to let you know how reliable your source is. Whatever ...
