I have been shopping for years; I'm always looking for a bargain, and it all helps as I’ve got most of my student loan to pay off. When the internet came along, I instantly jumped onboard, as it was invariable the cheapest place to purchase from. Then I found out in a magazine how to claim back some of the money that I'm spending online, for only 2 minutes work.

Here's how it works.

Competition on the internet is fierce, companies are paying affiliates (very handsomely in some cases) to advertise their wares.

Give or Take is a cashback site where you can shop at loads of stores and they’ll give you 100% of the cash back they get from these companies and they are giving it directly back to you!

Here is my shopping list:

Cost to me

£0 American Express ( Credit card signup ) (And I can use the card to get cashback on my weekly shop)
£180 Screentrade ( Car Insurance )
£350 Dell ( Laptop )

Cashback

£35 American Express ( Credit card signup )
£120 Screentrade ( Car Insurance )
£8.97 Dell ( Laptop )

As you can see some companies will pay more than others to get your business, but without changing your spending habits you can easily claim back some of your expenses.

I've managed to claim back £163.97 on a total spend of £530.

I hear you asking, "But you don't get anything for free", and its true. However these companies allocate this money from the sales of all products. Using this method, you won't be paying a penny more, though sometimes you may get extra benefits not normally available. (American Express offered 5000 nectar points in July 2007 if you had signed up using giveortake.com ) If you don't claim this money its just a waste. Also, you can also give your cashback to charity if you can afford it (not for me, maybe one day…!)
