Habbo hotel is basically a glorified chat room, where you can go to meet your friends or complete strangers in one of the public rooms or in a room you have designed and furnished yourself(costs money). When you first sign up to the habbo hotel you will be asked to register a Habbo (which is basically a little figure). You can then drees this figure in a variety of clothes and hair to give each person their own unique representation in the hotel!.
You the login and can visit one of the many rooms in the hotel. These rooms vary in their style. Some of the public rooms are themed to look like a pub or club however there is one room where you can play games such as chess noughts and crosses or battleships.In these rooms most people just guide their habbo around and talk to strangers.
The private rooms can be set up for a small cost and you can put into them whatever you like to give it a certain atmosphere or theme. In these most people meet friends.
When you talk to someone in the hotel it appears in a speech bubble which those in your vacinity can see however you have the option to shout so that every on in your room can read what you type. Or you can whisper so that only those imediately next to you can see what your saying!
Most people in the hotel are young and the hotel has a no swearing with swearwords replaced by the word "bobba". You can also pick up a drink or snack from special areas around the hotels such as water coolers or minibars (although this always struck me as a pointless gimmick) however the hotel has a no alcohol policy (slightly more ridiculous than having fictional drinks is not being allowed fictional alcohol!).
However on the whole if you have ever visited other chat rooms I would recommend a visit to the habbo hotel because it provides a more interesting experience than looking at text on the screen and gives people more of a chance to give themselves a look that allows them to express themselves!
The progam requires you to download no extra programs provided you have the correct shockwave/flash plugin which is available from the site if you dont already have it!
