Habbo Hotel - an excallent way to communicate with others around the world! Habbo Hotel is the only chat service i basically only use nowadays and is probably the only site i visit everyday.
One of the main attractions in this chat software is ofcourse that it certainly is amazingly different from any other chatroom. In Habbo Hotel firstly, like any other chatroom, you must register your account. This is free and is extremely easy considering 10 year olds use this. It is just like any other registration where you give out the usual information. ie, e-mail, real name, choose a username and password etc. After, you are ready for step 2!
Secondly, before you can enter any of the rooms provided, you have to create your very own 'Habbo' which is just a little cartoon boy/girl depending on your gender. Doing this is simple:
On the screen, there is a plain body standing with different deatures to the left and right. At the top, you can choose from different hair styles and to the left you then choose the colour you desire for your habbo. You can go as wild as you want, from a pink moheaken to a simple blonde pony tail. Ofcourse the hair and clothes will be different choices for different genders. During the creation, you can change the shape and colour of your face features. ie, fat face and tanned, boney face and pale etc. Next, you choose a top style, from a simple shirt to a
rain coat then ofcourse the colours. Then you have trousers or shorts then your shoes. Before you finish creating your habbo, you have to create whats called a 'Mission' which is a few lines you type in for other habbos to read when they click on you in a room. After that, you are finished creating your habbo!

Now you are ready to chat. Getting started is easy, after creating your habbo, the screen takes you to the Habbo Hotel homepage where you sign in using your Habbo Name and Password. When you are signed in, the screen has a cartoon like backround and has cars on a road moving around. A list of rooms then appears on screen and heres what i found the difficult part.
The list of rooms are very basic. There are different styles to every room and each room can take up to either 25 habbos or 1 or 2 can hold 100. When the list of rooms appear, you have 2 choices: Public Rooms and Guest Rooms I tend to go into guest rooms as the habbos are bigger and i find it alot easier. Public rooms are just very basic. There are rooms such as disco rooms, cafe rooms, swimming pool area and others.

Guest Rooms ----------- I cant actually make a list to the guest rooms as they change either every hour or every minute. Basically what happens is other habbos create a room and buy furniture for it and decorate it any way they wish. When they have finished, other habbos such as yourself can then go into their room and do whatever the title says. Usually the rooms are either Beauty Comps, Race Comps and alot more. Right now the most popular are halloween rooms! The disadvantage in trying to get into a guest room is the fact that only 25 habbos can be in one room at a time but when you tend to keep trying, you finally manage to enter!
Creating A Room ---------------- Creating a room is easy, pick a room shape and then name it. After that, you then go to your room and first it is bare with nothing buy you in it. Before you can make a room, you have to have credits to purchase furni from the catalogue. Once you have got credits, you can buy anything you want that is in the catalogue. You can buy sofas, chairs, carpets, pictures, bars, teleports, a tv and a whole lot more. I have created 2 rooms so far but my most recent is my Halloween Party room which i try to open daily.
Buying Credits -------------- .You can buy credits using your home telephone or your mobile to phone and key in a code. Within seconds, you will have 10 credits in your purse. .You can also buy credits using Text Messaging or by sending a check by post. .The last choice is to order a Splash Plastic card which is very similar to a top-up card. It is basically used to shop online but once you have put money onto it, you can use it to buy credits which i do very often using it. I got mine by visiting their very own site and requesting for one. After 4 days, i received my very own card through the post. I immediately had it topped-up from my local corner shop and i was then ready to start creating my room. Buying furni i have to admit isnt very cheap but if you are on Habbo Hotel as often as i am, it is worth every penny. So far to this day i have probably spent over £20 on buying credits but i dont regret it at all!
Moving about is easy, once you are in a room, your mouse curser controls where you go. Click on the floor to move to that position or click under a sofa or chair to sit on it and so on.
Habbo Club ---------- Habbo Club is for people like me who can afford to join. All together, to become a 'HC' member, it will cost about £3 as 15 credits cost £1.50 each by text. Prices and amount of credits you receive vary from different methods of purchasing. The easiest and msot common way is by text. HC is a club where you can have more advantages than other normal non HC habbos. Being a HC habbo is great as you get special clothing and hair etc. PLUS when there is a line outside a room, you get the advantage to skip right through into the actual room from outside the door. There are other advantages such as receiving a gift for joining which tends to be a very expensive piece of furni.
I forgot to actually mention, that when your habbo is in a room, you can click on him/her and make them dance or wave. I do this alot sicne i have my own Halloween Party room i dance alot on the dance floor!
There isn't really alot more i can say about it other than it is absoloutely a fantastic way to communicate with the rest of the UK and USA. I love it, it's fun, easy and is a great way to make new friends.

Advantages: Different to normal chat rooms, lots of places to go, people to meet Disadvantages: Takes up lots of memory, can cause computer to freeze or possibly crash.
