Harman Kardon DVD players feature advanced circuitry for maximum resolution when used with the latest high-definition video displays and multichannel audio systems, and an exclusive custom-designed menu system which lets you take full advantage of the DVD format's features. Picture quality is not just a question of resolution, but how the image is decoded. The DVD 23 uses pixel-by-pixel - rather than line-based - processing to produce a noticeably sharper image. Compatible with DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, VCD, S-VCD, DivX, MP3, WMA and JPEG, the DVD 23 features high-end DACs, a built-in test signal and backlit remote for outstanding video and audio performance.
Advantages: looks fantastic, beautiful picture (depending on connection), Disadvantages: expensive, reliability problems with brand
...Having owned a HarmanKardonDVD22 since June 2005 I think that I am well placed to write a review on the unit; but before I talk about the DVD22 I feel that I must give a little background and therefore must go back 1 year, when I had the DVD21 (by the same company). I bought the DVD21 as an ex-demo model in-store for £150.00, within 6 months I had returned the unit as it was making excessive noise when playing disks, the shop that I purchased from took the unit back and it went away for repair, when I received the unit back, the only thing that was left of the unit I purchased was the case, all the innards had been replaced, essentially it was an old case with a brand new interior. That unit lasted another 6 months before going wrong, this time the company swapped it out for the newer DVD22 (although I had to pay another £100).

Advantages: All the home cinema features - future proof Disadvantages: Heavy & large.
...The AVR 7000 is the new to end product from Harman Kardan. It is available in the US at the moment - however can be imported easily by purchasing on the Web. It retails at $1600, however $1000 is nearer the mark if you buy from a good dealer. EBAY is one place to look. The unit is solidly constructed, weighs in at 50 pounds weight - mainly due to the very high-ens torroidial power transformers. I upgraded from a NAD 3020 amp to a HK AVR40 and when I heard the AVR7000 I just had to have it!!! Includes Dolby Digital, DTS. Check out the HarmanKardon Web-site....

Advantages: High Quality Output, Clean Stylish Look, Mulitple Format Connection Disadvantages: A little Bulky. Dont place DVD above Amp may over heat
...What an excellent DVD Amplifier.
The amp once connected provides great sound quality. The amp supports a variety of external products, including DVD, HI-Fi's. TV, Game stations etc..
It is so diverse and I would recommend to any one.
The sound when in surrond mode is phenominal, you can here everything in super high quality.. It often really makes you feel like your there.
The Amplifier comes with a Easy to use remote that allows you to control every feature of both the amplifiers itself and also the recommended DVD from Harmon Kardon.
The product is well worth every penny you pay for it.
The style is very cool and would fit in well in any household. The DVD player is also of a similar look and would make for a great system....

When I first saw these speakers in the market, i liked them. The transparent tube and satellite speakers look just great. But I dare not even think of buying them - £140 is a bit too much for me to spend on speakers.
I had borrowed the creative 6.1 ... more
