Even more truth.....

Advantages Good (honest) opinions, simple and fast site, research
Disadvantages Content update (but the site owner is moving house)
I discovered this site in the same way as I discovered Holidays-uncovered.com - I was seeking information on Mallorca through a search engine. I looked at this site with interest - I mean, the title of the site does gives it away a bit.
Anyway, off I clicked. The site is text based with very few graphics - which is great as this makes the retrieving information very fast. Following the destination/resort links brings a list of accomodation relavant to that resort, and a further click on the accommodation gets you the readers opinions. Each accommodation report has, at the top, 'what the brochure' actually states, so you get a feel for what you'll have bought at home and then you get the honest opinions of fellow holidaymakers.
The site isn't updated as often as it could be but this is an independent site run by individuals - I've visited many major company websites and theirs are sometimes motnhs out of date, and they should know better. The reviews themselves are worth the visit - anyone (like me) who travels on package holidays should know only too well the value of research. I posted my opinion on this site about one of my holidays - there are now 6 - and the opinion is divided half and half.
I find this site (and others like it) a welcome and extremely useful tool in assisting me in choosing my holidays - the majority of us still have the '2 weeks in the sun' holiday and it costs a lot of money and is a very emotive issue - so any help/assistance you can get can only be welcomed. As an addendum to this opinion, here a few tips, in general, that I find can help when picking your (package) holiday. What follows is also in an opinion I wrote on Thomson Holidays but I feel is worth repeating.
1. Surf the web - you'll be amazed at how many foreign hotels have web pages. There is also holiday/info sites (holidaytruths etc) where you can find out about resorts/hotels/things to do etc. As these are often independent they hae no axe to grind and so are honest (like Ciao)Happy hunting!
