Advantages Nice home page
Disadvantages Less hits than other engines
Hotbot has a well laid out home page. This is not cluttered and offers a lot of useful options without having to click on extra pages. This makes the search process a little easier.
I have found that the speed of hotbot is satisfactory but the number of hits generated during a search is inferior to other, larger search engines.I find I use hotbot as a 'second try' when my main search engines fail to find what I need. This has sometimes paid off with a useful link generated.
If you need to do a quick search, and don't want to spend too long searching for options on the engine's home page then hotbot could be what you are looking for.
