Advantages: Lovely brands, hard to buy online anywhere Disadvantages: You will spend more than you intended - take it from me!
I love luxury hair and skincare brands… I’m a firm believer that mostly – not always – you get what you pay for. Although I am always delighted when I find a cheap brand that offers good quality, most of my favourites (which I must get around to writing about on Ciao sometime, it’s just not the kind of thing I normally review!) tend to be in the pricey end of the market I’m afraid.
Part of it is the shopping experience – because I work at home, ... ...town for a meeting and have a few minutes to wander around a good department store… testing, sniffing, blagging samples and generally enjoying the level of customer service and attention that goes with snobby brands! (Part of the enjoyment is definitely imagining how these same helpful ladies would react if they saw me on a normal, i.e. at home, working day, in trackies and no make up, but never mind!) It feels so grown-up to be recommended to try ...

Advantages: Online shopping, loads to choose from Disadvantages: Expensive postage
I have spent years trying to find decent hair and beauty stuff that is cheap and readily available only to reach the conclusion that sometimes you really only get what you pay for.
This year I have vowed to take proper care of my hair and skin and not to skimp on haircuts or products, I figured that if I can justify spending £30 or so on one piece of clothing, why not spend a bit more on my hair and skin to match – well I think its a good idea anyway.
... ...splashed out on a fantastic day having my hair cut and coloured and trying out a load of new skincare products and I can honestly say it feels fantastic *grin*.
I decided not to buy any of the lovely things they used on my hair from the hairdresser but promised myself that I would seek them out at a later date… and being the lazy so and so I am I thought the internet might provide the answers – which brings me to hqhair.com!

Advantages: Lots of selection, some products are hard to find in shops and salons Disadvantages: Some prices are slightly inflated
I started using this site nearly a year ago when I discovered that the hairdressers in village I had moved to did not sell my beloved Paul Mitchell products! Not much call for it out in the sticks apparently – but this is possibly the best outlet for designer haircare and beauty products I have come across.
The homepage is a fountain of information with details of products available on the site, fantastically attractive with images and graphics, ... ...and advice on how to create the styles you want, what the stars use to tame their tresses and the latest styles and fashions for your hair and corresponding accessories. Although ultimately a site for hair products, they have developed an ever increasing range of beauty products and as you scroll down the homepage, a selection are on display to entice you (although if you are like me I don’t need much persuasion!) to have a look around.

Advantages: good range of otherwise difficult to get hold of items Disadvantages: silly p&p charges
I came across hqhair more or less by accident, i was instantly smitten with their range of hair ad beauty products. If youre looking for a bargain beauty product iwouldnt recommend looking here, because all the items are full price, if not slightly inflated. They do have an outletstore where they sell off all their surplus and end of line stock, but its very rarely updated and the products can still be expensive.
Hqhair stocks items that are extremely ... ...tina range of cosmetics, which is just fabulous, also, lulu guinness, dermalogica, cake beauty and joey new york. They sell makeup, skincare, hair care, electrical items such as ghd's, mens grooming products and nail care.
The site is hugeley addictive, especially as you can put items in your basket and come back a week later to find them still there - reminding you that you reeeeeally want them!
If you join their mailing list theyll send you an ...
