A friend sent me the URL for hsx.com about a year ago, at first I was a bit dubious, basically it sounded a bit naff, that soon changed though when I clicked the link and landed on their homepage. Imagine, being able to buy shares (virtually) in some of the biggest films around, thats the general idea of this site. You buy virtual shares , bonds etc, in upcoming movies, my current choices are "First wives clubs 2" , "Independance day 2001" and "Star Wars- episode 2", then you track to see how well you have done ,and if real successful you could win one of many prizes. You also get to have a sneek peek at what movies are coming in the next two years , as they have all the info from all the studios.
The best bit about the site, which I signed up to , was "Virtual Producer", this was a one off offer to actually have your name on the DVD of "Shadow Of A Vampire", a once in a lifetime experience, and you should have seen all the stuff I got sent that wasnt released publicly. The site doesnt just deal in movies though, you can buy shares in music artists as well as albums and labels.
Its such a cool site, I cant believe that I hadnt gone there before, what was I missing.
