I was quite surprised to discover that Belle was a genuine person, and the show was based on her real blog. It had never occured to me to go looking for this blog until a short while ago, and when I finally discovered it, I was overjoyed. You can find the blog at www.belledejour-uk.blogspot.com. It's fresh white background contrasts with Belle's personality, and the pink logo at the top is incredibly attractive. Straight away you can tell you have arrived at the right place. Before I gave her blog a read, I had a look at the features down the side. Blogspot allow you to have various little apps down the side, and Belle has one showing the books she wrote, as well as a Twitter feed connected to her account. This was also the way I located her Twitter, which I was thrilled about too!
Now it was time to search the blog. At first I did suspect that somebody had created this account after the show was born, in order to trick people into thinking it was an official blog, but thanks to blogspot's amazing organization, I quickly banished that thought. Down the right hand side there is a little section where you can sift through the blog entries by title. These are further sorted into the years, and Belle's blog dates all the way back to 2003. Since the TV show was not born until 2007, this was practically solid evidence that it is genuine.
Belle's first blog post was written on the 24th October 2003 and 3:50pm. It is a small blog entry, describing Belle's phone call before meeting a woman from an agency. Even this little blog entry made me laugh. Now Belle has hundreds of blog entries, of which I have not had the chance to read through them all. Though I have read a lot of her recent posts and they never fail to amuse me. She's such a talented writer who knows how to capture her reader's attention in a simple blog post. It's incredible to have an insight into Belle's life, and the other side of her life is rarely brought up. It's simply amazing.
If you are a fan of Secret Diary of a Call Girl then naturally this is definitely worth having a look at - it puts the show into perspective, and makes everything so much clearer. Though even if you have never seen the show (which I suggest you do watch...) I recommend you give this a look. Belle is such an amazing person with so much to say and so much experience, and I imagine many of its readers will have a limited knowledge of the life of a call girl so it is also educational and incredibly fascinating. I can't believe it has taken me this long to find her secret diary, but now that I have, there is no going back. Belle's blog is truly sensation and I would recommend that everybody gives it a read.
