There are so many different free email services out there it is very difficuilt to decide which one to use, do you choose speed, ease of use, name, etc. I find that security should be the number one priority, and with an account that encrypts everything that it sends with your own personal key Hushmail must be the most secure email service out there. Hushmail has been around a long time however has not had the publicity like yahoo/hotmail because it is not backed by a large organisation.
With hushmail you get many features such as (all free); digital signing, technical support, 5 megs storage space.

Should you become a Premium Hushmail member don't expect to receive a response when you complete the "Help" contact form at the website. I completed this form 3 times with no response. Finally, went back to the membership confirmation e-mail I received when I paid for the Premium Hushmail service and found another contact e-mail. Response, was prompt, but the help was limited and inadequate. When they couldn't solve the problem, they simply stopped ... ...therefore locked out of my Hushmail account with no recourse. I'm glad I did not store any secure documents with them. Lesson learned - don't count on a third party for your security. What good is security if you cannot access it. Similar to money in the bank, but what good is it if you cannot access it. ...
