i first got one of these phones on a trip to america, i got it amended so that it would work properly on an english network. I-mate SP3i is a must have device for the serious mobile phone user, it has amazing functions that you will need to see for yourself. i-mate SP3i is Tri-band GSM /GPRS compatible and runs on Windows Mobile Second Edition for Smartphone - a full rewrite i think from the original which includes enhanced Bluetooth support with the Headset and Hands free, and OBEX Profile support added. It has a 64K full colour transflective screen, built in digital camera, MMS & Bluetooth support, as well as a full range of standard applications including Pocket Outlook, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger. All this in a very cool black and silver finish - WOW. the i-mate SP3i has been especially built for dynamic 3D gaming. With it's easy to use gaming joystick interface the device is excellent for multiplayer or online interactive games from i-mate Interactive.
Advantages: Handheld with Windows CE Disadvantages: Navigation stick is very uneasy to use
When I purchased SP3i, I was very happy that I made a good deal. However, later on I got unsatisfied with it's slow processing speed and particularly with the ineffective navigation stick. No doubt the encorporation of windows CE in a smart phone is a good achievement of I Mate, however when one want to use it as a mobile phone, the slow speed hinders. I was able to get certain applications for this mobile which were very good and I wish if it's ... ...using this handset. Initially it gave me trouble while navigation and later on it got very hard that I had to push it to use it which was not easy at all. I must say that this is the only drawback and a big drawback of this set. I switched from 6600 whose navigation stick was very easy to use and really got troubled with this set. All I could say is if someone really want to have a smart phone with windows CE, this set is good if handled with care. ...
